perfect flanker
Out of curiosity, I tried this wonderful flanker of the classic Paris. It's a big, hefty bottle with stenciled design embellishing it. I paid twice the original retail price as it is now a rare collectible. These were limited editions in 2007 and I would pick them up at Sephora. I passed over this one. It now takes its place in my collection among my YSL shelf with always seem so precious as the days go by.
Its contents pay tribute to the classic Paris. It moves far beyond the original formula while still fitting inside the iconic bottle. What makes it different? The green note is turned up. What is the green note? I never figured it out, but I love its fresh earthy character. This is Paris stripped down. The top notes are restrained with hints of the classic formula. I get no mimosa. There is rose, violet, lily of the valley and the biggest surprise is the lilac which takes this formula back a century to 1907. Its old fashioned in the best way.
This is an all-ages production that can be worn from anyone from 3 to 113. Children would love this. It's so gentle, almost delicate that to say its unisex is silly. I use it as an aftershave, as its soothes and tones the skin. It's pure French elegance that will never be produced again...
