A Meteorite is Racing Towards Earth!

It has secretly smuggled itself into our solar system behind Pluto. Astronomers discovered it through the Hubble Telescope and are now calculating its trajectory. Astrologers are going berserk, smoke rings puffing out of their ears. One of Jupiter's moons is no longer in the 5th brothel! Fortune tellers are eating their cards without sunflower oil, because it's all gone. So they have to choke down the stuff dry.
Professor Pirkheimer says that only absolutely clean citizens will survive the impact. He recommends making calf wraps with self-felted scrubbing rags, which have been soaked in old coffee from an 80-year-old coffee machine. On these, one spreads a paste made from squashed "Nimm 2" candies, vanilla sugar from "Ja," and orange syrup for Soda Stream fizz makers. Afterwards, one scrubs themselves with root brushes and anoints themselves with linseed oil. The whole thing can be subscribed to as a complete package. It will be delivered every 3 months and will be charged.
The meteor flies past Mars and takes the last survivors of Mars Attacks with it, the ones Tom Jones sang about back then. Now they swear revenge and want to transplant heads on Earth again.
To be able to breathe the Earth's air, they chew on musk gums, which are more chewing gum than musk.
So the Earthlings are wondering what to do. Bruce Willis is also no longer interested in a new Armageddon.
But Tom Jones belts out: “Sexbomb, you’re my Sexbomb” (I love this song and old Tom anyway). The bomb part is somehow true too. The meteor makes a full stop, does a U-turn, and thanks to this flanker, disappears into the universe.

Dancing in the New Jungle
In the past, it was customary to study in Berlin.

The city was political - meaning there were many demonstrations - and it had no curfew - meaning you could go out around the clock, which, however, got in the way of intense studying.

I only visited my wayward clique on weekends - otherwise, I preferred to be "deep in the West, where the sun gathers dust" - as Herbie Bochum aptly sings.
My excursions to Berlin were enough for me.

And so it happened that we ended up at the trendy disco "Neuer Dschungel."
A punk joint that I was curious about.

We paid our entrance fee to colorful-haired Iroquois - and found ourselves in a glaringly bright room where many colorful people danced with sunglasses on their noses.
There was no shortage of neon tubes in this establishment.

I was somewhat startled by the brightness, as I had expected the usual dim disco lighting.
Yet this large office atmosphere had something - a completely different intimacy, as you could look your counterpart straight into the pupils.
Uncompromising and real.
Along with the music from The Clash, Sex Pistols, Ramones, etc...

Black Opium Neon would have fit in perfectly with its open artificiality - especially because of its charming nonconformity.
Colorful gummy bears tumble about - drenched in vanilla and coffee.
Petals float above, mixed with wood shavings.
Anarchy in the U.K.
I can't help it - I have to dance.

My Milkshake..
Actually, I don't like shopping malls. But do you know those large, airy ones, with calm music and few people, all of whom are relaxed? Where there is ice cream and waffles and, yes, milkshakes.

With the first spray, I take a big sip of such a milkshake. Tropical-fruity, I think of mango, but it’s probably the dragon fruit. And a large portion of vanilla.
With my huge cup in hand, I stroll around. On the rim, there’s a large white flower attached, whose scent rises to my nose with every sip. Orange blossom, mixed with something else.
I pass by a perfumery, from which comes that sweet-heavy hint we all know. But I don’t go in, I just take a bit of floral and musk with me. On the other side of the aisle is a café, from which there’s also a fragrance. Over time, it becomes increasingly clear that someone has probably poured a big sip of dark-spicy coffee - or even Original Black Opium - into the cup.
Nice, I think to myself, and continue strolling, with a last bit of milkshake in hand.

I don’t like coffee, I don’t like shopping malls. But I really like this scent. It doesn’t differ much from the original for me. Vanilla, orange blossom, and what must be coffee. This one is fruitier, especially at the beginning, also a bit more synthetic, which probably bothers some. One could see it as a light version. There’s nothing neon about it, but that’s okay.

Artificial but I like it
Right after applying, I smell artificial blueberry (or dragon fruit, if you prefer). After that, the scent reminds me of the original Opium, but without vanilla, instead with a lot of sweet fruit. Black Opium Intense is still my favorite by far, but this scent here is very special and actually feels more like an independent creation than a BO variant. It is youthful, playful, piercing yes, due to the artificial fruit, but it doesn't overwhelm me, which is not a given with such a sweet fragrance.

A Blazing Flash in the Night
I have to add my two cents here after all. Yes, for people who already own a fragrance from the Black Opium line, this flanker might not be anything special. But in that sense, it applies to most of the fragrances I know from the Black Opium range - you might choose one for your collection that you like best, and the rest are not necessarily needed, as they are very similar; the dominant BO base is almost identical. In my case, it was actually Black Opium Neon that I had to constantly sniff on my wrist or test strips, and which ultimately made it into my collection.

I find the name Neon very fitting and am surprised that this has not been addressed in any review yet. Neon light is glaring, it practically screams "HERE I AM," it stands out in the dark, it is synthetic, colorful, and yet many people find it pleasant to hang around at night in the light of neon tubes - whether at parties, in bars, or at the snack bar around the corner. And just like the beam of neon pink light tubes at night, the synthetic sweet dragon fruit-citrus note stands out from the dark coffee-vanilla BO background. Yes, it is glaring, but it does not illuminate the entire night; it stands out, but it does not dominate the fragrance. I am surprised that no one perceives the strong contrast as I do - when smelling this fragrance, a glaring neon-colored flash in the night was indeed my first association.

Now, such a fragrance is certainly not an everyday scent for the office or for every day; over time it would be too intrusive. And it will not be everyone’s favorite. There is - as with most fragrances - the right time and the right occasion for it. For me, it is a going-out scent, and as such, I really like Black Opium Neon. It is also well received in my circle in this context, despite the synthetic sweetness. Or perhaps because of it? Synthetics can be annoying, but in this fragrance, I find that it fits perfectly. The contrast between the fragrance notes makes it possible. I am surprised that it scores so poorly here - at the same time, it does not surprise me at all, as most of us prefer the "natural," the warm, gentle daylight. And yet, sometimes it is precisely the neon lights at night that captivate us...

The performance and sillage isn’t as good. Not terribly bad wear, but it doesn’t hit the same level as its predecessor.

There is nothing to balance out the sweetness. No spice no floral no musk. Just syrup!

Smells so strong, artificial, and sour on me. It would be good layered with vanilla maybe but in that case, buy the original Black Opium

Is the scent artificial? Of course!
So it's natural. No, artificial!
So what is it, natural or artificial?
Naturally artificial!

She’s 14, he’s 18.
He orders 2 coffees.
Tastes unusual, might also be the Hubba Bubba gum in his mouth.
Doesn't matter, as long as he’s here, with her!

The neon warning signals that it’s going to be bright and loud here: synthetic sweetness, white flowers, and musk. What a shame for the famous name Opium!

With each new flanker,
the coffee gets even shallower...
not even dragon fruit can help
make it more interesting :(
What a shame!

After 'Intense', the most beautiful BO flanker! Crisp fruits rest on sweet orange blossoms and enjoy a coffee together.
