Gorgeous rose gem with a bow
Out of all the flankers this one is the most beautiful. From the stunning burgundy colored gem cut bottle with the bow to the perfume inside- it’s a masterpiece. The main character in here is the rose of course. But this rose is a true princess here. It shines like nowhere else I have seen accompanied by the masterfully blended accord of addicting black currant, lovely raspberry, sparkling bergamot and mysterious datura flower. The dry down is sheer sexiness with very smooth patchouli, musk and cashmeran. I wore it several times for everyday, but when I put on my new little black dress on and turned on the romantic music, I realized this perfume fits perfectly. It’s made for an evening out. Some perfumes just should be special like that. You can wear it everyday of course, but it’s just made for a grander time. I could not believe how good it smelled and I just couldn’t stop smelling it on myself like an addict. I hope it stays in production because it would be a true heartbreak to lose this Rose gem. As I mentioned before in my statement, it befits true hopeless romantics. What season is it? I think it’s very versatile from winter to spring to summer nights. You can pull it off anytime, but for everyday I would probably choose the original Mon Paris or Mon Paris Floral. Although for now, I personally will prefer this one. The original Mon Paris is more about the raspberry florals and patchouli. In this one, raspberry is beautifully blended and Rose is at the center. A gorgeous fragrance that I like much better than Midnight Rose by Lancôme for sure.

New Love
What sorrow I have carried. My beloved signature scent "Gaultier Classique intense" is no longer produced. Prices skyrocketed. And since the separation was already in sight, better not to delay, but to find something new.
I ordered masses of perfume samples on Ebay, because in the store, after a few scents, the nose quickly gets "full." Of course, I know which fragrances I like. Primarily vanilla, jasmine, and also the orange blossom, which many find annoying, I enjoy. Likewise, rose scent, as long as it doesn't come off too synthetic. But in the end, it's all about the blend.

The other Gaultier fragrances are all not my style at all. In the store, the finalists were actually Yves Saint Laurent and Libre as well as Mon Paris. Also "Dior the One gold." Mon Paris quickly became irritating and is now being resold on ebay. The same goes for The One. Libre is very special, but it will definitely stay with me. However, it wasn't suitable for everyday wear. I always found Yves Saint Laurent in general to be far too heavy and too musky.

I can't even count all the scents I've smelled in the meantime. And how often I've taken a shower in between to get rid of smells, I can't recall either.

And then I stumbled upon Mon Paris intensement as a sample on ebay.

The first impression, the top note, was actually almost too fruity. I usually prefer everything that is creamy and soft. And at first sniff, the scent seemed almost too girlish to me. However, with the onset of the heart note, it quickly became clear that the fragrance is more adult than it initially appears. Feminine, sensual, and soft.

In the base, the scent is not too heavy; musk and patchouli are very balanced. It remains lovely, soft, and feminine.

Actually, the scent is not at all what I have worn so far. Nevertheless, I won't part with it. Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed that it won't be discontinued soon and that I won't have to start the search anew.

A little addendum: as pretty as the scent is, over time I miss depth and a certain level of sensuality. The fragrance is harmonious, beautiful, and wonderfully balanced. Still, over the days, I haven't been able to shake the feeling that something is missing.

LA BOHÈME 2020
When listening to Charles Aznavour (the campaign song), I don’t immediately think of Mon Paris Intensement, more on that later.

But first, the bottle: it is shaped like the other MP flankers but in a magnetically appealing color, including a matching bow, and for me, it is the most beautiful in the series. A dark magenta-purple, sensual, mysterious, one expects something "heavy" from it. The longevity and sillage are decent, and one should be careful with the dosage even though Intensement is not as intense as expected.

Now to the fragrance: Mon Paris Intensement (MPI) starts berry-like, fruity fresh, and alongside the berries, I can clearly perceive the pear. This pleasant sweetness increases and becomes rounder towards the heart note; I perceive a slight soapiness after about 10 minutes, which I find a pleasant counterpoint to the fruits. As the flowers take over in the middle, the sweetness steps back again. Here, I also notice the oily rose described by Igli in humid-warm weather; in dry, cooler weather, the "prickling" of the thorn apple prevails, just like with the EDP. What I notice with MPI is that the heart note lasts a very long time, which I greatly appreciate. But - and now we come to a downside - unfortunately, I perceive little patchouli in the base, and almost no benzoin :-( There is basically only white musk, so nothing intense...

My conclusion: MPI is a successful, modern fragrance and despite its sweetness, it is very wearable. It has quite a punch, but ultimately it does not have the intensity I wish for or imagined with the addition of Intensement. Very unfortunate :-(

Back to the song: the remix fits (at least instrumentally) with MPI, the young modern bohemian indeed... the bohemian era that Charles Aznavour lyrically sings about would probably have suited L'heure Bleue better ;-)
So, what do I do? I will definitely use up the bottle; it is beautiful after all, even if it lacks depth. And I still have the EDP (favorite)... and then I’m considering whether I should treat myself to the blue hour from the master Jacques Guerlain again :-)

Utterly romantic & flirty, sumptuously rosy, succulently sweet & juicy, musky, narcotic...I just can't get enough and I gleefully overspray.

More rose and much less patchouli than the original. I really like this, even though I don’t typically enjoy rose.

Like a dark red, juicy, oily rose dipped in a berry bubble bath and wrapped in a luxurious, waxy lotion to preserve it.

A juicy, red berry, fruity rose composition. Fresher than the original, a bit less patchouli, but more woodiness, musk.

First, blackcurrant fresh from the bush, then a beautiful, dark rose blooms in the heart note.
Confident, chic, young.

A sensual blend of juicy fruits and candied roses, rounded off by soft patchouli. The bottle color perfectly reflects the scent.

Juicy slightly sweet raspberries, delicate fresh roses, and a hint of creamy white musk. Very beautifully romantic, feminine, and playful.

Beautiful fruity floral scent. Smells on me like my beloved Rose Pompon EdT by Goutal but with much better longevity.

On my skin, a sour, rather one-dimensional berry note dominates the scent. I had hoped for something fuller & deeper.
