Just not a fan of this one … unfortunately
I wish I had better things to say about this fragrance. I’m usually a fan of Z&V fragrances but this one just didn’t work out for me. From the first spray I can detect a bit of that Z&V DNA with the sweet chestnut and sandalwood but with a light green, almost minty pistachio note. It’s almost a little too sharp of a smell for my liking. Once the pistachio settles, maybe an hour or so after spraying, the Z&V DNA becomes prominent with this background wheat scent. Which, on my skin, the wheat notes quickly starts to overtake everything about 2 hours in and I’m left smelling sweet & unfortunately, wheat-y … At this point, I couldn’t wait to get home from the mall I tested the fragrance at to SCRUB this off my wrists.
I find This is Him: Burning Love to be the more pleasant fragrance from this release. It’s got this well-blended and more streamlined boozy-citrus-incense scent that’s quite lovely. Definitely leans a bit masculine but I’d say it’s unisex.
I really wanted to like this fragrance and from the notes I thought it might even be a love for me but sadly that isn’t the case. Try test this one before you buy it, I can see it being a bit polarising.
