soft, fresh and elegant.
The pear is definitely the main star here. It opens with a juicy pear, and followed by a soft creamy scent, that reminds me of rice flour. It's a bit powdery and fresh, it's like biting in a ripe, sparkling pear, and eating a milky rice pudding, while basking in the shade of a tree in summer when it's unbearably hot. It's not too sweet, not too fruity and it has a warm aspect to it.
I like to layer it with almond blossom & oatmilk from VS to add a bit of "savoriness" and depth to it.

Overall, longevity and sillage are average, it slowly transforms into a skin scent, very intimate and soft. It's a bit sharper on clothes, and it lasts a bit longer.

It's a wonderful fragrance for spring and summer imo.

Are you an Annyake?
I am surprised! Positively surprised! This sample was included in my package. That's one of the reasons I love Parfumo. These unpredictable surprises! Flaconi, for example, has the talent of including Narciso musc blanche with every one of my current orders, making me feel almost triggered and compelled to buy the fragrance. No! That will not happen!! So tonight, I am testing A Mochi Atelier in Tokyo for the first time. Oh god, screaming pear synthetic hits me, cough cough, I wish I had tested it before my evening bathing ritual...now it's too late...uhhh, what is this! Powdery! Sandalwood? Rice? Musk? Almond! I have here a hybrid of Miyabi Woman but louder! More long-lasting! A bit of L'instant Magic and "Girl of Now | Elie Saab." I am thrilled, creamy, powdery! The pear gives way to a woody note! Probably set again with my luck/talent. So sometimes, I don't even want to test anymore because I know two out of twenty samples are DISCOUNTED!

Dear Mochis..
About 3 years ago, an Instagrammer successfully influenced me to try Mochis. Excited, I searched for them everywhere until I finally found them in an Edeka in Nuremberg. 2 different varieties: cocoa and pear.

Barely home, I immediately tore open the package and bit into the chewy, wobbly Mochi. The texture? Interesting. The taste? Outstanding. Addiction potential? Definitely. And thus my love for Mochis was born.

This excitement erupted again with this perfume. "A Mochi Atelier in Tokyo" - I have to have it! How are they going to capture this rice scent? Do I want to smell like a Mochi? That would be quite unremarkable, because Mochis taste good, but smell? Not really. Often, the surprise is only found inside a Mochi... a piece of pear, a cocoa cream.

Later, I received this scent as a birthday gift from a dear friend. And what can I say? This is definitely a pear Mochi! You can clearly smell the rice or rice flour at first, and then you are overwhelmed by the pear - and that is the surprise. The little piece of pear in the middle. The scent develops into a lovely fresh but also sweet spring fragrance. What can I say? This scent is just as interesting as its name and should be tried by all Mochi lovers. Nothing spectacular, but something special.

P.S.: You haven't tried Mochis yet? Then go, go, go! :-)

Very helpful Review 10
synthetic late spring
You have to give Zara some credit; with a bit of patience, you can find some treasures among their offerings. I'll keep it brief:

Mochi Atelier opens with a distinctly prominent (synthetic) pear that strongly reminds me of Haribo juice gold bears (pear, of course, coincidentally my favorite flavor). Once that note fades, not much happens; what remains is a very close-to-the-skin but persistent dumpling-rice-water residue that is surprisingly pleasant and no longer sweet at all. Applied 6 hours ago and still noticeable if you hold your nose to the spot.

Not something I would wear in an office with pumps; I see it more with a light summer dress, which is still a bit too cold for, bright sneakers, and a mate. Inoffensive, but not elegant, clearly youthful, not a crowd pleaser. I like it a lot, but it's very subjective. 16€/100 ml, I believe? Worth a try.

Fruity pear first wrapped in sugary rice steam and then turns into a supersweet powder. Doesn't have much to do with Japanese mochi anymore

Oh so very delicious. It's pear first, then ricey powder. Some days I think i'm over it, but turns out I never really am. Good fragrance

I hated it when it was 1st released. Tested it upon the re-release and kind of like the subtle sweetness. Getting pear and rice this time.

I smell the connection to mochi but I also get an abstract baby smell from this? Not baby powder, actual new baby smell
