A Trip Through Tuberose
While it shares a name with Grapa'r'fume 1, this is a fairly different floral fragrance. There's a similarity to the synthetic note that hits for the first few minutes, but, after it subsides, the aroma is more like a cousin than a sibling. Nuanced florals with some undertones of leather, grass, and spices (warm, sensual ones). However, while I'd say 1 is a bit challenging and synthetic, I find 2 much more recognizable and wearable. Tuberose dominates here and serves as our guide through the fragrance journey, taking us through its mild sensual, spicy notes, as well as its floral, airy ones with jasmine and chamomile. Unlike other tuberose scents, there's a hint of a gritty base of leathery, zingy, and dry notes. On my skin, the florals lose a bit of their delicate nature that I smell on the tester, although that's something I experience with most floral fragrances. I could see 1 & 2 layering well together, offering a deep floral experience that is greater than the sum of its parts.
Lasts solidly for a few hours, even when applying it very sparingly. As with other Adi ale Van scents, there's a lot here, and I'm glad that they last long enough to really appreciate them and project well enough for others to as well. The bottles are handmade and uniquely gorgeous, and the solid power means it should last for quite a while, which makes the higher prices (at least for those of us in the US) more reasonable.
Considering the niche nature of Adi ale Van, it is fairly difficult to get a sample or even a bottle of most of their fragrances. However, one can contact Adi ale Van through the website or over Instagram, and he is more than happy to make orders custom with relatively quick turnaround. I highly recommend the sample set as a starting point to appreciate the artistry of these fragrances.
