Pleasant beginner oud without corners and edges
I purchased 2 ml of this pure oud oil from @123lole321. Normally I prefer Thai ouds rather not, because they are often too sweet for me - exceptions such as a Thai oud in my collection smelling strongly of very spicy cheese confirm the rule. But to an oud from Ensar I could not say no, especially since it was quite cheap for Ensar.

Today I tested the oud for the first time. The beginning is interesting for a Thai oud. It is a little darker than common Thai ouds. It is sweet, but also smells like tobacco and honey. I know that rather from a very good Laotian oud I have.

After about an hour, however, the scent evolves into what I call Thai-style soapy oud. The honey and tobacco are gone entirely. Instead, a very bright fruity scent emerges, reminiscent of a fruity bubble bath. I know this scent from a large part of my Thai ouds.

After about three hours, the fragrance wears off a bit and unfolds rather in the background an oud-typical aroma, which lasts for quite a while.

Oud Extraordinaire is not as extraordinary as the name implies. It does have the quality that Ensar is known for. The scent progression is not monotonous. Still, it remains at an entry level. It is pleasing and easy to wear, but nowhere near as complex as the Hainan 2005, for example, which I like very much. Animalism is not to be found here. An oud doesn't necessarily need that to be good. There are, for example, also very good leathery and fruity ouds. But I admit, after the very promising beginning Oud Extraordinaire bores me with his soapy aroma but a little.

The price is, also typical for Ensar, a little high for this quality. Thai Ouds with a similar character and the same quality there are also already in a lower price segment. Beginners I would therefore recommend to look around rather there. I personally do not regret the purchase, however. It is a nice oud for everyday use.
