Another Difficult Case
Many thanks to Nick for the decant of "Chypre Sultan | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" :-) Unfortunately, I am not really happy with this one either. This is yet another fragrance that overwhelms my nose. At least the longevity is strong, lasting 10 to 12 hours. The sillage is also quite successful.
The top note starts off very animalistic thanks to castoreum. Yuzu adds a certain citrus note to the fragrance, giving it a chypre character. The heart note smells floral, green, and earthy like lily of the valley. Oud underpins this earthiness and creates both woody and spicy nuances. I like the base the best here. It has a very intriguing scent of green tea as well as hay.
Unfortunately, I am not happy with this one either. I wonder if one day something from Ensar Oud will appear that can truly impress me.
