EO can do it after all....
Hello everyone,
our actual story began in 2023, but it wasn't a long pleasure. That means = I tested xx fragrances from the brand EO and there were always many that I liked more than you back then (!) and yes, maybe it just wasn't the right time back then...
Getting an OG nowadays is very, very difficult and generally acquiring certain older things from the brand is.... let's call it challenging.
That's why two weeks ago the newer "Iris Ghalia Attar | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" (black cap) arrived, and what can I say = it was different than expected!
This concludes the preface and now the real review begins!

How does it smell?
To those who know the "Iris Ghalia (Parfum) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" = it carries a lot of that (which is logical) and you can tell where it comes from ;) , meaning...
You notice a very, very, very soft beaver for a few seconds and then it crumbles away and basically never appears again! The scent feels very gentle, almost soft, and therefore... = more on that later!
The very noticeable fruity blackcurrant + some spices combined with the iris butter and the blue lotus create a dark, beautifully thick liquid mass that somehow seems magical. You feel boosted and somehow above things. I can't describe it; you have to experience it!
However, there are two more things that I "feel" I appreciate even more about it.
On one hand, the drydown, as it is very, very similar to the "Iris Ghalia (Parfum) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" V4 and the "Purple Rain: Trifecta | Ensar Oud / Oriscent," both of which I already like more than subtly. This tidy/ this (for me!) perfect mix of gentle oriental spices, the beautiful sandalwood, and the almost delicate Papua oud.
But what is the (in my opinion) biggest real plus point is simply how it is received/ liked and how mass-compatible it is!
Many from EO, or almost all, play with a certain animalic note, some less, some more, but it is almost always present in every scent. Here it is almost (98%) absent. My wife is not really a fan of EO's animalic notes, not even close, but SHE said the following...
"So this is an EO..., you can't be serious!"
Now I wear it more often and EVEN to sleep (subtly), I would even say that it, alongside the "Sultan White Rose | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" (review to follow) and my PLATINUM "Purple Rain (Attar) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent," are the three that YOU (!) like the most.
Can I recommend it?
Absolutely!
Where and when?
Where - almost everywhere, and as for when, not necessarily in summer + high summer, but otherwise it works very, very well.
H/S:
The longevity is really impressive/really good/mega; when we talk about 20h and more, I think to myself "WHAT ELSE CAN BE SAID," except to give it a 10 out of 10!
Regarding sillage, for the first 1 to 1.5 hours, it makes a statement in the sense that yes, it is very noticeable. But after that, it becomes very quiet/almost shy and reserved. And for an attar or oil, it is logical (due to the concentration) that they are quieter in the later stages. But for EO standards, it is almost atypical for it to be so quiet...
And that's precisely why I might like it so much...
Because it is quiet and when it is well received, it can be used without problems in places where usually hardly any EO is applied (train, car, airplane, at small indoor birthday parties, for example, even while cuddling), and I really appreciate that.
Sometimes you have to take different paths...
Personally, I am honestly super glad that I finally have it again and have given it a second chance.
