One of the most beautiful scents in the world...
Hello everyone,
There are fragrances about which one could or should almost write something poetic, and there are some here who can do that exceptionally well. This scent definitely deserves it, but that's not really my style^^, so I'll do it my way.
At the end of 2024, I got a small EO vial with 0.1ml and well, it’s really damn great!
However, there were 2 problems... and not small ones!
On one hand, pure availability, as it is quite modest. If you want something almost limited and a 50ml bottle, forget it... and on the other hand, the price. To elaborate on that, see below, and also I promised myself in 2024 never to go over 30€ per ml..., which worked quite well, well more or less^^. Now I have a "Sultan White Rose | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" that easily surpasses the 40€ mark...
Now to the actual review!
________
Just a little something!
When we talk about a rose - oud (with noticeable quality), we can hardly get past the "Sultan Red Rose: Isparta | Ensar Oud / Oriscent," and when we talk about a creamy rose - sandalwood, we are referring to the Ottoman Empire Part II Attar as my personal benchmark.
But what does this have to do with them?
The "Sultan White Rose | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" is NOT a rose - oud fragrance and it doesn't play with the multitude of the most beautiful rose blossoms in the world like the "Ottoman Empire Part II Attar | Areej Le Doré," it is different, very different!
It is extremely (!) concentrated and opens very, very slowly. 1 rose, and another and another, meanwhile we get such a beautiful mix of the fruity notes of mandarin and a subtly bitter note of yuzu, along with the resinous incense that is ENVELOPING and draws you in...
Several more roses follow, and it is a different rose than the ones I know/knew (and I have experienced quite a few). It feels like a constant change we have here
from a juicy rose, a drier one, a fresher one (almost clean, it’s probably the mountain rose) = beautiful.
I know (!) that tobacco is not listed in the fragrance pyramid = it could just as well be a very, very smoky amber, or also a Malaysian oud, but after about 2 hours it becomes so beautifully smoky and very, very authentic.
As we slowly approach the drydown, we experience the incredibly wonderful stage of the "Sultan White Rose | Ensar Oud / Oriscent." The costus root used creates an earthy effect, and the many types of oud used (0 animalic!) paint a wonderful ending, a truly realized dream of EO!
H/S:
Specifically, the longevity is noteworthy as it is already almost in the ATTAR/OIL range of nearly 11 hours, which is very good, but a higher concentration of the fragrance usually brings a minimization of the sillage. It is good or ok+, but never more, and after 5 hours it becomes a skin scent with a delicate scent cloud, and compared to other EOs, it is rather quiet.
Disturbing = hell no, rather fitting to the scent!
When + where?
I could probably say September - April/May and almost everywhere. But this scent is so elegant, high-quality, noble, almost royal (+ in this way somewhat condescending), that I would only wear it for very, very special occasions, like a wedding, Christmas, birthdays, big family celebrations = something like that.
Effect:
For me personally (!) there are 3 fragrances, when I wear them, I have a very special feeling that I find difficult to describe = my 2017 "Roja | Roja Parfums," my "Baikal Gris (Extrait de Parfum) | Areej Le Doré," and my "Purple Rain: Trifecta | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" + also the "Sultan White Rose | Ensar Oud / Oriscent," all of them transport me in their own way to another world. I am calmer, I don’t see certain things so rigidly, I care less^^ (great German). You have to try it ;) .
On the topic of price:
In terms of price, I find it ultra modest to evaluate such things, as the products offered by EO are practically in the ULTRA - High-end - Niche - Artisan - Luxury - League, and therefore I feel it is incredibly modest to actually say something like that. Yes, there are perfumes and oils with prices that some cars cost...., but everyone has to decide for themselves whether it is WORTH it for them or not - that’s how I see the topic!
Recommendation:
It would be crazy if I said YES MAN, or BUY IT..., no, I wouldn’t say that, especially when we are talking about this price. But I would perhaps recommend smelling it or something like it. For me, in pure ROSE TECHNIQUE, it’s "the end of the line," and who knows, maybe it’s the same for you.
And now have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards from Benny
