Lemon Cake in a Bottle (Inspired by Xerjoff Lira)
Sometimes, a lengthy review is not necessary to describe a fragrance.
And that’s exactly the case with Crème Caramel.
It simply smells like a lemon cake - period.
Although this brief description would almost suffice, I still want to delve into it more thoroughly.
The opening is, for me, the absolute highlight of this fragrance.
I have rarely smelled something so amazing.
I perceive a wonderful blend of bergamot/tangerine and vanilla that immediately reminds me of lemon cake.
And in a very authentic way.
Although it strongly resembles Casamorati - Lira Eau de Parfum, there are indeed some differences.
The citrus notes are simply zestier and fresher.
Crème Caramel is definitely inspired by Lira, but it is not a 1:1 dupe.
In the dry down, cedarwood joins the fruity and sweet notes.
However, the fragrance never becomes too woody or masculine, as caramel becomes perceptible shortly thereafter.
Due to this prominent lemon cake vibe and the caramel, the cedarwood remains more in the background.
This ensures that the fragrance stays rather feminine.
Towards the end, the caramel becomes increasingly prominent, while lemon and vanilla recede slightly into the background.
Nevertheless, both notes remain well detectable.
Overall, the fragrance is creamy, sweet, fluffy, and offers a successful blend of fruity freshness and creamy sweetness.
Performance:
The performance could be a bit stronger for my taste.
On clothing, the scent lasts a whole day, but I almost have to search for it, a problem I usually don’t encounter with fragrances that have strong longevity.
The projection is also rather moderate.
I perceive it well for about 90 minutes, without it projecting too strongly.
After that, I feel like you need to be closer to me to notice it.
Although the fragrance is labeled as unisex, I see it more on a woman (70%F/30%M).
Conclusion:
I have already smelled several fragrances that smell like lemon cake, such as Spectre Ghost, "Victoria / فيكتوريا | Lattafa / لطافة" or "Empire Victor | Khadlaj / خدلج".
But Crème Caramel is different; it smells much more authentic and is my absolute favorite among the mentioned ones.
I can highly recommend it!
