Indoor and winters; or cold indoors;
I tried this fragrance 3, or 5 times, because something was really bothering me about it. Until today it finally clicked: I do not smell this fragrance, at all, when i'm outdoor. It is so subtle that the opening is it's literal name: Ghost.

There is a good and a big bad about this is that, when you're outside and there's a smidge of wind, this is simply not going to be something you notice unless the nose is literally 2 inch away from the skin you sprayed it on... And that bothers me a lot about this fragrance. However I end up trying it in 3 different settings to make sure about what I thought. So the only moment I really could smell it, was indoors in a cold setting. Even a warm setting doesn't sit right with this.

So my very first impression of this was it smells like a molecule 101 that you crossed with a sweet fragrance but even thinner. I thought "why not just do that instead of this unnoticeable fragrance?".

Now when you do smell it, which is like an hour or two later, because it needs time to mature, it ends ups smelling sweeter, and lightly musky. Which is cool, but nothing too mind blowing in my opinion. I just have such a hard time with this fragrance because it's for a very specific occasion like say winter indoors sitting at a table or something.

At least when you end up smelling it, it's worthy. I debated for a few days if it was my skin or not, and in reality it's a mix of my skin and the setting in which I tried it in. Even on the paper, it smelled stronger than on my own skin. So maybe it will fit yours more than mine in that case!

It's cheap though, and very long lasting (almost a day on my skin) which is the saving grace. If it were anything more than 20-30€/$ i'd heavy pass on this. Only reason I bought it is because it's cheap and I could find a use for it, it's not a bad fragrance when you do smell it, it's simply as light as a feather unless you're in the right setting.

Falafel for agents
"There's a cartridge in the bottle!" Peter the village cat sits next to me and rolls his emerald green eyes. "The Bond shot it in there ..." Peter is a Monk technician, you have to know. "Sure, it looks better. Whole cartridge instead of bullet," he babbles. "The eye smells too, so to speak ..."
Well, never mind. James Bond has killed a villain. The smell is still in the air. The smell of gunpowder. The smell of Bond. The smell of gunpowder and James' new perfume. The smell of Spectre Ghost.

Bergamot was mixed in by the perfumer. Under the supervision of Q. Into the Ghost. That makes it fresh. Ginger. That makes it spicy. Blackcurrant. That makes it crisp. Hot and crunchy. Tailor-made for James Bond. Cardamom for the spice. And falafel. Falafel with cumin. Cumin is not listed, but it smells like it. The Ghost. Unfortunately. A little sweaty. A little nasty. Somehow. Actually more Bruce Willis in an undershirt than Daniel Craig in a suit.

Warm, spicy, feel-good fragrance. That's what I read. Spicy, yes. Warm, if you like. Feel-good fragrance? Some see it that way. Not me. I don't like cumin. Even if there's no cumin in it. Or it's secret. There are lots of secret things in perfume. So they say.

And it lasts. That's an important criterion. Quality is important. And durability. Durability and sillage. Top! Both top! After 24 hours you can still smell that Bruce Willis ... sorry, James Bond was sitting in the compartment.

Not a blind buy candidate! But a must-have for every agent. And beware, this fragrance is immune to water, soap and brushes! You have to let it grow out.

Nishane Ani light
Is this the best Ani Dupe? Is it even identical to the original? The first question is probably a matter of opinion, but I can clearly answer the second question in the negative.
Ani is spicier, heavier and sweeter. So you don't get a 1:1 dupe with Spectre, even if some influencers claim that.
What you get is a fragrance with the beautiful Ani DNA and a similarity of perhaps 85% for a fraction of the
price of the OG.

But what does Spectre Ghost smell like? The start is very creamy.
Bergamot, ginger and pepper make the fragrance fresh and spicy.
Almost at the same time you can perceive a green vanilla which is responsible for the sweetness.

I also notice cedar wood after a short time, which makes the fragrance quite woody in the DD.
The green vanilla and bergamot remain quite prominent.
This makes it smell slightly like lemon cake.

I notice ambergris, patchouli and benzoin more in the background.
But cedarwood, vanilla and bergamot are the most prominent notes until the end.
As a result, it remains a sweet, spicy, woody fragrance to the end, which for many is probably more suitable for the masses than the original, as Spectre ghost is simply a little more wearable and versatile.

H/S both really very good.
A dupe that is almost on a par with the original.
For the price of under €30 in some cases, that's pretty amazing.

Some fragrances are marketed as unisex, but are then too feminine or too masculine, but Spectre is definitely unisex (M60%/40%W).

My conclusion: A fragrance that you definitely have to have in your collection.
If you want it even cheaper, then you should go for Satwa.
No matter what you choose, the DNA is simply awesome.
Definitely a purchase recommendation from me.

My feel-good fragrance
There are fragrances that you smell for the first time and you like them straight away and then there are those that immediately put a smile on your face and don't let go.
That's how I felt with Spectre Ghost.

The fragrance is multi-faceted. Warm, spicy, aromatic, citrusy, woody, creamy.
It starts with a mix of fresh bergamot, ginger and vanilla, which immediately reminds me of a lemon cake.
There are also green notes and cardamom, which gives it a slightly sweet and minty touch of eucalyptus.
Sandalwood, patchouli and cedarwood provide a woody spiciness.
The fragrance progression remains quite linear. In the drydown, the creamy, warm, gourmand vanilla comes to the fore even more and harmonizes perfectly with the fresh, sweet bergamot.

It lasts a very good 8 to 10 hours. I can still smell it on clothes the next day.
The bottle is solid and of high quality. Flacon design 10/10
Is it unisex? Definitely for me if you like sweet woody-spicy fragrances as a woman.

For me, Spectre Ghost is a feel-good fragrance that gives you a sense of security.
My first bottle is almost empty and I'm happy that I bought a second one.

Discreet. But unmistakable.
It is midnight. Somewhere in Istanbul. Or Rome. Or just a hallway in the semi-darkness. And he's already there.

Spectre Ghost doesn't wear perfume - he is one. A shadow in a tailored suit. The moment before something happens. No door closes loudly, no footsteps echo. But the air changes. Ginger emerges with a soft hiss, as sharp as a flashing knife, but immediately rounded off by the golden flicker of cardamom. A hint of bergamot gives the whole thing that intangible shine - like polished steel at dawn.

The heart beats dark red. Blackcurrant, juicy and restrainedly sweet, mingles with pink pepper - a shot from the hip, precise, dry. A rose is there, somewhere - not to seduce, but as a souvenir. A memory that has made him weak. Maybe once.

Then it becomes quiet. The vanilla spreads like silky smoke - creamy, warm, a little dirty, a little dangerous. Musk like an open collar, patchouli like the haze in an abandoned hotel room. The cedar? Discreet, like an embossed initial ring that flashes briefly when you shake hands.

Spectre Ghost is not a statement fragrance. It is a code.

Related to Ani by Nishane, yes - but with more steel in the backbone. Less licorice, more undercover. While Ani beams at you like a compliment in a bar, Spectre Ghost leans closer, whispers something in your ear - and then lets it reverberate all evening.

A fragrance for those who don't need business cards. For nights when no one can ask where you've been. For moments that never happened - and still end up smelling of vanilla.
