Unbalanced and Incongruous.

Before oxygenation, this is probably the weirdest fragrance I've ever smelled. Can smell a very weird (kind of synthetic?) pistachio, vanilla... and maybe vaguely the jasmine too? It smells incongruous and vague, as if I was smelling it through fog. I can't really put my nose on any specific scent note here. It doesn't smell bad though, so my hopes for this perfume are still alive... we shall see. :)
I really hope it rounds itself out in a month or so because I was very excited about this fragrance. :(
I'll edit this review later, and hopefully I will have something nice to say about it by then.

Nivea-Creme oder doch ein Parfüm?

Als ich mich Mal wieder nach einem neuen Duft umsah, welcher mit wohlmöglich gefällen könnte, staß ich auf Affection von Lattafa.
Ich machte mich ein wenig schlau, las einige reviews und bestellte es mir letztendlich.
Schon klar, eigentlich macht man keine Blindbuys, aber bei dem Preis, kann man einen Reinfall gut verkraften.
Glücklicherweise war es aber keiner.
Ich öffnete die schöne Verpackung Lattafas und auch die mittelmäßige der Flasche und Sprühte einige Male auf.
Eines fiel mir zugleich auf. Das errinert mich an Nivea-Creme mit etwas Nussigem. Nach einer Halben Stunde entdeckte ich auch so langsam Vanille und immer mehr die Blumigen Noten dieses Duftes den Jasmin und die Maiglöckchen. Nach zwei weiteren Stunden riecht er mehr schon wie vanillepudding mit einer nebensächlichen blumigen Note.

Didn't work for me...

Unfortunately this smells like cheap bathroom cleaner to me. I don't get any pistachio or vanilla. It's kind of soapy, kind of lemony and reminds me very much or a hospital bathroom after it's just been mopped. Just goes to show how everyone's nose is different and how incredibly subjective fragrance is. The bottle design is also incredibly unattractive.

Pistachio Paradise Fr

My beloved Affection by Lataffa is a gem! It’s my go-to bedtime fragrance because the mix of vanilla, pistachio & lactonic notes are so cozy & snuggly! This is exactly what I want from a gourmand during the cold months in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. too.

Affection is a feminine and milky cloud of a fragrance with solid sillage and a sound 6 hours of skin wear. I get almost 48 hours of fragrance wear time on jackets or coats too.

This is for sure a compliment getter. More importantly, when I wear this scent I wanna compliment and snuggle me!

I prefer this to Kayali’s version (the OG) because of the dupe’s increase in longevity, milkiness & sweetness. I do love Affection but I do not think it’s a safe blind buy for people who don’t like the original, gourmands or pistachio desserts.

This coupled with “Lovely Cherie” by Maison Alahambra is one of my cold weather signature scents! Love everything about this! So long as Lataffa makes this perfume, it’ll always be in my collection.

Yum Pistachio Gelato Dupe with More Power

According to the description here on Parfumo, the fragrance has already been discontinued!?

That would surprise me a lot, as the perfume has just been released and I think it is worth a try.

As can be easily recognized from the title, this is a "Yum Pistachio Gelato | 33 | Kayali" dupe.
You can read the reviews there, and you’ll know how Affection smells, as they are very similar.
But still, I will try to express it in my own words.

The opening is somehow green and sweet at the same time.
I don't know what smells so green, as the notes are unfortunately not listed here.
I also perceive something slightly metallic.
It reminds me a bit of "Nebras | Lattafa / لطافة".
Not that the opening smells the same, but with Nebras, I also notice something unpleasantly metallic in the opening.
Fortunately, this metallic note fades quite quickly.

In the dry down, it becomes beautifully creamy/smooth and sweet.
But I can't explain what smells so sweet.
It could be anything, ice cream, marshmallows, or candies.
It reminds me a bit of pistachios without being too realistic, and that’s exactly why Affection doesn’t smell "edible".
Because the pistachio note doesn’t clearly smell like pistachios; it gives more of a pistachio vibe, that’s how I would describe it.
What ultimately remains is a sweet, candy/ice cream/marshmallow/milky-creamy cloud that, with a bit of imagination, reminds one of pistachios.

The fragrance DNA is quite feminine, even though it is supposed to be a unisex scent, which should be considered when purchasing.
However, if a man likes scents that can just about be worn by men, then it fits.

The performance is stronger than the original.
On my skin, the scent lasted 8 hours, after 6 hours it was only faintly perceptible.
On clothing, I could smell the fragrance for 2 days, then my top had to go in the wash.
I’m sure it could have lasted 3 days easily.
The projection, on the other hand, is rather moderate, not a screamer or anything like that.
You simply have a delicious cloud around you that shouldn’t disturb anyone.

All in all, a nice gourmand, more for her than for him,
that can perfectly replace the Yum Pistachio Gelato.
Good performance, the price is also okay, you can hardly go wrong if you like sweet fragrances.
