PDM Layton Meets Mancera Red Tobacco
Taureau de Combat (Translation: Fighting Bull or Bull Fighting)
There are already two other clones of Creed Centaurus that I know of, Rayhaan Crimson and Royal Taboo by French Avenue. Lattafa Pride's Taureau de Combat is basically a clone of the second one mentioned here, Royal Taboo by French Avenue. The notes are identical, and so we have a clone copying a clone, if you will.
Taureau reminds me immediately of Layton by Parfums de Marly. It absolutely shares that same warm, spicy, sweet and floral DNA.
Where Taureau differs is with the addition of Tobacco and Cinnamon. Both of these notes become quite pronounced in the drydown. The Cinnamon in Taureau is handled very well by Lattafa, and not overwhelming as in some other fragrances. However, I would say this is a fragrance best suited to colder climates or cooler evenings. Sillage is quite strong, so a little bit goes a long way. Longevity is also very good.
In terms of quality, Taureau is very well blended, and is pretty much what we've come to expect from most of the Lattafa Pride range. As Taureau appears to blend two well known fragrances, there's also similarity to the Layton-esque (Lalique White in Black), as well as an Armaf interpretation of Red Tobacco (Hunter Killer).
Overall, Taureau de Combat it's a very nice fragrance. It's warm, inviting, cozy and perfect for those Fall/Winter evenings. I'm going to see if maceration changes the scent profile in a few months time and will return to it again.
