Once again a review of a Lattafa, as these are absolutely worth it for this price. Here is also the first review. It’s not that unknown, especially because it is said to bear a strong resemblance to the LV "Afternoon Swim | Louis Vuitton." I can say upfront that there are already slight similarities recognizable, particularly in the first two hours. However, I cannot identify a true dupe here. A good dupe has been released by Lattafa under the Alhambra sub-brand, which is not listed here. The focus is on the similarity to the original. The Lattafa fragrances often have their own vibes, just like this Pisa. It could be inspired by the LV, but it also has vibes of the
Turathi (Blue) and
Le Gemme - Tygar DNA; additionally, it reminds me a bit of
Aqva pour Homme Atlantiqve with its more robust aquatic notes later on. Overall, a great combination that is simply enjoyable and easy to wear.
This Pisa comes from the Pride collection and is already available for around €30. The bottle is cool, and of course, the leaning tower of Pisa was chosen, for which the city is world-famous. The bottle is cool and quite heavy and solid; in an emergency, it could even be used as a weapon. The packaging is typical Lattafa; I don’t need it. It takes up too much space in the trash can.
In terms of scent, this fragrance clearly heads in the direction of the aforementioned scents. Most closely in the top note towards the LV. Fine juicy citrus fruits impress and create a carefree feeling. Bergamot-lemon is quite juicy-citrusy and naturally fits into this Italian theme à la Pisa. Added to this is a juicy-fruity and slightly creamy mandarin that really feels delicious and invigorating. I really like this top note. As it develops (about 2 hours later), this scent becomes significantly woodier and warmer, and the citrus-fruity top note dims a bit. It goes a bit in the Turathi/Tygar direction, which I don’t find negative. A slightly bitter aquatic note also spreads, which feels quite pleasant. It pairs well with this cedar and sandalwood note. In the base, this fragrance becomes a bit warmer with amber and wood, the freshness has of course completely faded. Overall, it presents a coherent picture that will likely be well received. It’s also rather independent. Those looking for an affordable alternative to Afternoon Swim should prefer the Alhambra.
Performance is better for me than rated here. Longevity is 8-10 hours, the last 2-3 hours are of course quite close to the skin. Sillage is in the medium range; the first 2 hours are quite good. Overall satisfactory for a freshie in this price range.
Overall, this release is worth it if you like similar fragrances. An extremely solid release that fits well in spring, summer, and for sporty activities.
