From candy lipstick to real lipstick
Floranilla starts out with a nice fizz. Not exactly like a carbonated drink, more like sherbet or candy lipsticks and similar products. But of course, with an unmistakable vanilla flavor to it! And flowers. Violet is there right from the start. Iris comes in a bit later, as the scent gets more powdery. It slowly changes from a candy lipstick to a real one.
For some reason I also smell a raspberry note here, even though the list doesn't indicate it.
In the final drydown, the scent becomes quite warm. The powdery notes are still there, but the fizzy candy is gone. Vanilla takes center stage and the myrrh comes out to play. Myrrh can sometimes smell a bit like licorice to me, and I get that here, too.
I associate this scent with cool early spring days: You're already in the mood for some fruity and floral notes, but you still need the comfort and warmth of a powdery, resin-tinged vanilla drydown.
After I saw that this has some votes as similar to Xerjoff Dama Bianca on this site, I had to agree and upvoted the suggestion. It's not an exact dupe though. Floranilla has a more balsamic drydown, Dama Bianca feels fluffier and more fine-tuned. I like Dama Bianca a little better, it's more elegant to my nose. But Floranilla is a beautiful scent, too! Definitely try both if you haven't yet!
