From candy lipstick to real lipstick
Floranilla starts out with a nice fizz. Not exactly like a carbonated drink, more like sherbet or candy lipsticks and similar products. But of course, with an unmistakable vanilla flavor to it! And flowers. Violet is there right from the start. Iris comes in a bit later, as the scent gets more powdery. It slowly changes from a candy lipstick to a real one.
For some reason I also smell a raspberry note here, even though the list doesn't indicate it.
In the final drydown, the scent becomes quite warm. The powdery notes are still there, but the fizzy candy is gone. Vanilla takes center stage and the myrrh comes out to play. Myrrh can sometimes smell a bit like licorice to me, and I get that here, too.

I associate this scent with cool early spring days: You're already in the mood for some fruity and floral notes, but you still need the comfort and warmth of a powdery, resin-tinged vanilla drydown.

After I saw that this has some votes as similar to Xerjoff Dama Bianca on this site, I had to agree and upvoted the suggestion. It's not an exact dupe though. Floranilla has a more balsamic drydown, Dama Bianca feels fluffier and more fine-tuned. I like Dama Bianca a little better, it's more elegant to my nose. But Floranilla is a beautiful scent, too! Definitely try both if you haven't yet!

Screechy opening followed by easygoing, better-blended drydown
Maison Tahite Floranilla is aptly named as a vanilla-meets-flowers featuring notes of heliotrope, iris, tangerine, myrrh, and vetiver. It starts out a bit sharp and floral but dries down to a cozier more vanilla-forward mix, definitely more in balance, but the opening is less welcoming, in my opinion, than that of most of the other fragrances in the house. Still, it’s quite nice when drying down, but it’s not the first vanilla I’d reach for, especially after I tried Vanilla yesterday, which I loved.

Like the rest of the line, it’s priced at $120 for 100ml in EDP concentration, sold at Luckyscent and other boutiques. The pricing is very reasonable for indie/niche, and the fragrance performs quite well.

Purple florals & vanilla
Floranilla is a very pretty “purpley” vanilla. It’s exactly what it says it is - a floral vanilla. I get mostly a powdery slightly fruity violet, a bit of iris and heliotrope and an undercurrent of vanilla that blooms as it warms up on the skin. As a vanilla lover I was initially disappointed that it wasn’t a more prominent vanilla scent but it definitely grew on me and I couldn’t stop smelling my skin where I’d sprayed it. And it’s the kind of vanilla I like - not a dry woody vanilla nor really gourmand/edible but still sweet and creamy. I think this is a pretty safe option if you like the notes listed.

Floranilla - Vibes
Large bouquets of fresh flowers litter the kitchen. A woman flitters through the room, singing to herself while she bakes sweet, decadent desserts. Unbothered by mess, wayward ingredients dust fragrant petals.

Almost sharp at the initial opening, but quickly melts into a beautiful, almost creamy, floral.

An Unforgettable Fragrance Journey Part 2/2
Here I am again, with Part 2, this time about a vanilla, marshmallow, and lipstick scent.
This fragrance was first introduced to me by the perfumer.
And it was love at first sniff!
I am very grateful to him for introducing/recommending this scent, as it also has a fragrance DNA reminiscent of a scent that was unfortunately discontinued recently and is greatly missed and loved by many.
The good man knew immediately what I was looking for because he hit the nail on the head with Floranilla!
In my opinion, it is a very underrated treasure in the niche fragrance world.
As always, I test the fragrance of my choice first on a test strip, and then if I like it, I spray it on my skin.
With Floranilla, I had to spray it on my skin after just 2 minutes because I liked it so much!:))
And it was the right decision because it unfolded so wonderfully and perfectly that I could hardly get enough of it and it stuck to my wrist the whole time.
The good man understood my enthusiasm and shared my joy:))
The scent reminds me very much of the fragrance DNA of Kilian Princess and Prada Candy:D
Princess because it has the same marshmallow note (even though no marshmallow note is listed, you can clearly smell it intensely)
Prada Candy because of the beautiful powdery lipstick note HEAVENLY!
Both are very good and wonderful fragrances, especially if you are into this scent direction:))
The perfumer also said that if you prefer/love marshmallow-lipstick scents, this is exactly the right choice. I agree! (He means Floranilla)
Since I don't want to keep anyone in suspense, I will start with the fine part, namely the fragrance description....;))
The fragrance...
Opens with a very fine, noble vanilla note that envelops and surrounds the soul.
The scent is accompanied throughout its development by the vanilla note, which becomes creamier and develops a fine velvety note.
The marshmallow note doesn't take long to appear and merges with the vanilla note:)
It becomes creamier and fluffier as the marshmallow note enjoys being in the spotlight and unfolds in its most beautiful form...
The more I smell it, the more I feel like I just sprayed Kilian Princess on my skin because the marshmallow note of Floranilla unfolds just like in Princess, only Floranilla is the sweeter and warmer version of Princess. (At least on my skin)
Even though they share almost the same fragrance DNA, I still don't want to say it's a dupe, even if both show hardly any differences on my skin, because as we know, every fragrance develops differently on each skin.
Soft powdery notes and a noble lipstick note blend with the vanilla and marshmallow notes together and occasionally seduce the senses with a beautiful but present elegance.
Floranilla reminds me of Prada Candy because both have the same sweet, creamy but not waxy lipstick note.
This fragrance shows many or has many facets, and it is a very mature scent,
but at the same time sensual and playful... Elegant as well because it doesn't smell cheap or mainstream.
It can also be beautifully worn for going out or for sensual private moments;)
To make it short, it is also somewhat addictive:D

Sillage is very good on the skin for 7 hours, still well perceivable on clothing the next day.
I can't thank the perfumer enough! Especially for the wonderful and special fragrance journey but also for his honesty and wonderful way of receiving and teaching:)))

A very pretty “purpley” vanilla, it’s pretty true to its notes list and exactly what it says it is, a floral vanilla.

Powdery floral iris w/ vanilla + orange, uplifted by sweet violet and almondy heliotrope, grounded by balsamic-spicy myrrh + woody vetiver.

Nice, surprisingly fruity and very sweet. Unsubtle, bright, and somehow effervescent.

I don't think violet and I will get along. Everything here is so beautiful. Actually. But something is scratching and bothering in the background.

Powdery, iris-heavy start
with delicate heliotrope notes.
Vanilla adds a subtle sweetness.
Everything is beautifully intertwined, never too sweet.

Unmyrrhish to admit:
The only violet,
that I don't want to share,
nestled on the sweetest vanilla
and
white-blooming sunshine.
