Brandy Club
This fragrance is somewhat different from what I would have expected based on the ingredient list, almost irritating at first. This may be due to the designated "Brandy" component. Without this indication, I wouldn't be able to identify it either. The smoke/leather component is too prominent for that. I took a few bottles of well-aged products from my collection (regions Petite Champagne and Borderies) for comparison and compared the scents. With a bit of imagination, analogies to "aged in oak and wine grape fruity" are possible.
Be that as it may. After a short time, the "brandy" moderates, leaving a balanced spicy-smoky, subtly fruity impression. Blacks Club Leather is an unusual fragrance that pleasantly stands out from the norm.

What should I wear...
... this evening for going out. Black jeans, black leather shoes, and a white shirt. What jacket should I wear? So I look in my closet and there I see it, my old black leather jacket that I always take care of with beeswax so that the leather doesn't crack. Once I'm ready, I head out to my favorite bar, where my buddies are already sitting by the fireplace with a fire burning. The waitress brings me a cognac. Thus, the weekend can begin.

Upon application, my nose first picks up the accord of old leather mixed with beeswax. This is quickly followed by cognac and firewood. Finally, a hint of mahogany wood joins in.

The longevity and sillage are good.

For me, this is a very masculine scent that I see on men from around 30 years old. It is a fragrance that can be worn all year round. I see the occasion more in the evening for dining, at the bar, in the club, or at a party. I see it less on women as I find it quite masculine.

Anyone who enjoys a leathery cognac scent with leather and beeswax will find this to be just right.

Cognac beats Rum as a companion for leather
Don't we sometimes wonder what the perfumer was thinking when creating a fragrance? Why ingredient x, why not y, or why not less is more? What leads to leather plus rum or, as here, leather plus cognac? These combinations can be found from time to time; Dark Rebel - released just a year later - is also carried by these ingredients - namely rum and leather. However, one can imagine that rugged leather might be made more palatable by sweet rum.

When one reads mahogany, beeswax, and firewood, it raises questions. Beeswax on leather? Well-known, everyone who owns and cares for leather shoes knows this. I imagine firewood as freshly burned wood, which could also be interesting. As for mahogany, one must not make the mistake of thinking it refers to mahogany wood here. Mahogany plants can also be shrubs and can bear fruits, for example. However, it may just as well be the scent that exotic woods exhibit when imported into other countries, often caused by substances meant to free the wood from pests. In any case, it will smell woody-burnt. Sounds olfactorily great in theory, purely subjectively.
My first contact was unfortunately marked by a directly starting disharmony; these notes really didn’t want to find each other at the beginning. Only over time did it come together. This perception is also reflected in the statements.

For a few seconds, it smells like Wild Leather by Mancera, then the alcoholic note clears up slightly. The cognac with the leather feels harsher than if one had relied on rum. It goes back and forth at first, soon the base notes come into play, which initially causes a chaotic confusion. Then it settles down; leather and cognac have found their rhythm. Now it reminds me of Fan Your Flames by Nishane, but without the coconut sweetness.

More and more, cognac and leather recede, especially as the cognac diminishes, Blacks Club Leather gains maturity and seriousness. It now strongly smells of wood rubbed with beeswax that is being charred. Not bad, but the finish is better, reminiscent of smoky tendrils; the remnants of the preceding scene.

Well, I actually quite like this fragrance, which I didn't expect due to the bizarre opening.
Anyone who appreciates fragrances like Fan Your Flames by Nishane but finds the alcohol/coconut combination too sweet-sweaty over time will find satisfaction here. Longevity and sillage are not impressive. One might think where the fragrance is pronounced, unfortunately, that is not the case. Only the name is misleading, as the leather is by no means as pronounced here. To tie it back to the intro: for those who find Dark Rebel to be a biker and pub scent, Blacks Club Leather is not for them.

Away with you, this is a club I pass on. A high class man for sure but there's no sex. I'll take a dirty sheep-herder over this blandness.

Rough dark and waxed leather in a smoky atmosphere. Unfortunately, it’s also quite burnt and not enjoyable at all.

The leather gets lost in the cognac.
Mahogany and beeswax don't help it.
For me, everything feels very unharmonious and off.
What a shame.

It resembles The Best by Words, which I actually prefer a bit more. Rough leather, with a fuzzy note and a resinous-woody mix.

Vilhelm P. fished the lemon out of the ashtray and didn’t wash his hands after smearing honey on bread. The leather couch is sticky too.

Tough, rough, black, and boozy leather: Cognac is clearly noticeable at first, then it becomes bittersweet and woody. Leather in the drydown.

This is how I imagine a gentlemen's club in England. Fireplace, waxed wooden floors, dark leather armchairs, cognac snifters. Dark & elegant.
