Good! But good enough?

Fragrance tested in a perfumery, found to be good, but also good enough to buy the bottle with a capacity of 50ml at a price of 200-250€?

About the bottle:
The feel/grip is there.
Lies quite well in the hand.
Fragrance diffuser does its job sufficiently well.

About the fragrance:
After spraying on a clear berry note, red, fruity, juicy, authentic.
This also remains until the drydown.
The alcoholic fragrance note in the form of rum is added fairly quickly, as well as a slightly woody note of benzoin and, for me, minimally enriched with oud.
As a result, a mixture of spices and sweet vanilla come to the fore.
This also remains until the end.

Shelf life for me is approx. 8-11h.
Sillage in the first 4h about an arm's length, then increasingly reduced.

Conclusion:
I quite like the scent after wearing it several times, but it doesn't excite me enough.
So I have always left the bottle behind in the perfumery.

The first fragrance of this brand and a difficult start. A strange, fecal oud note starts strongly here and is washed off after 5 minutes. No, nobody wants that. Oud can be so great, but it has to be masterfully crafted. This one is just bääähhhh. On the second test, I just waited bravely and after a few minutes the caustic note was gone and a trivial, slightly spicy fragrance emerged. But I want fragrance right from the start. The rest of the fragrance is not that great, so this one is not a candidate for purchase, especially not at the asking price and the rather plain bottle. The sample set is poorly packaged. The box is so soft and unstable that everything slips. Just as an aside......

Sweet rum

I didn't find Tierra by Pernoire such an exciting smell until I read the inspiration behind it.

Tierra unites the joy, passion and warmth of the South American people.
Ahooo... now I get it.

Sweetness on steroids is my description of it. Just the way the Americans like it.
But the red berries don't smell favorable at all.
Especially in combination with the rum it becomes very exciting.
After 30 minutes, the vanilla comes into play, which makes the fragrance softer and creamier rather than oversweetened.

Very exciting mixture, I have never smelled anything like it before.

About the name:
I come from Portugal, so the word "Tierra" sounded familiar to me. In fact, it has the meaning I thought it had. Earth. With Tierra we mean 2 things in Portuguese, Spanish and Italian. Either earth or "home". Not literally.
With our "tierra" we mean our place of residence. Our village where we grew up.
Our home.

To be honest, the name doesn't really have much to do with the fragrance for me, but I understand the idea behind it.
The sun on the bottle stands for deep positivity and vitality.

I think that Pernoire and I simply had a bad start with the Otimo, because after the Mansa I think the Tierra is an exciting release!

The title already fits: Yes, the fragrance is clearly for the colder days; a really nice fragrance that is perfect for fall/winter. Now what does it smell like?

- At the beginning you really get a lot of dark berries, and also a lot of rum, a lot of rum. A boozy, warm fruit tea into which a lot - almost too much - rum has been poured. Very nicely made, but definitely something for niche connoisseurs, because the rum is extremely high-dose and therefore very aromatic.

- The fruity sweetness then subsides and a balsamic vanilla note gradually enters, with an almost powdery texture thanks to the benzoin, which also contributes this balsamic note. There is also a good amount of spice, almost cinnamon-like sweetness, but definitely on the spicier side, before everything is then enveloped by a foundation of woody-sweet oud.

- The longevity and sillage are both in the top third, so there's really nothing to complain about here.

All in all, another great release that is particularly suitable for colder days. Once again, however, it has to be said that the niche character is high, there is a little more of everything than you would expect: lots of rum, lots of fruit, lots of spice and sweetness, partly simultaneously, partly sequentially.

In this respect, a great winter fragrance that you should definitely try first.

A trip to South America - without an airplane

Tierra by Pernoire was only the second fragrance I tested from Pernoire after Amoral and I have to say it was love at first smell.

The top notes are really delicious berries, preserved in a little alcohol, which makes them immediately present in the nose. Fruity, but by no means synthetic in my opinion. There is already a certain spiciness here.

After that, it gradually turns into a wonderful picture of vanilla and spices. For some reason, the fragrance smells a little dry to me, but a "dry" in the sense of a late afternoon in a wooden hut in South America (the fragrance is also based on South America). In any case, the image of the sun fits perfectly. Behind me from the wooden hut, the scent of vanilla wafts out of the old metal stove, a light note that rounds off the picture rather than dominating it. Instead, I perceive the spices wafted by the wind from the field in front of me as more dominant. And I sit there and simply enjoy the world into which this fragrance transports me.

If Tierra were a song, it would be "Touch me" by Rui Da Silva, I think it captures the vibe quite well.

An important point about the fragrance: The sillage is definitely in the good range and the durability (especially on clothes) is really bombastic. I was still smelling the fragrance three days later when I entered my room. Absolute madness.

As soon as I have the opportunity, I will buy a bottle of it, an absolute recommendation.
