I'm biased…

I love fresh, citrus, aquatic, and minty scents. Therefore, I had to jump at the email saying that you could get the sample "for free," plus €5 shipping. I was really looking forward to the fragrance, for the reasons mentioned above. Also, among other things, because I love Anelo and "Mansa | pernoire."
About the scent: Well, what should I write that might (possibly) help you? The fragrance starts fresh, and yes, there is a certain ice aroma to smell, just a hint of that freshness from the ice candies, but without the scent. The mint is also quite noticeable, at least for the first 10-15 minutes, and then it comes, after that in the next 30 minutes to 2-3 hours the scent develops, to be honest, for me, into a synthetic uniform designer mush. It’s not bad, but I feel that the price and the fact that it is an extrait are not noticeable on my skin. I also find it a shame that as a mint fan, the mint (for me) only comes through subtly. I have Kobe Gardens and love the mint in that fragrance and had wished that this one would come across similarly. I am aware that it’s "only" the top note, but the rest hardly comes through for me, especially since I also love vetiver, but maybe I just have a hard time picking out certain notes.

Conclusion: If I were given this, I would wear it, but buy it? No way! For me, a mediocre "designer."

Well….

I am 47 years old. When I bought a pack of gum at the kiosk around the corner as a child, there was only one choice for me. No HubbaBubba, no Big Red, no Fancy Magic Gum. No, my choice was always Wrigley’s. Wrigley’s Spearmint. I had the habit of tearing open the pack at the tab and intensely smelling each strip that I then pulled out. After removing the paper wrapper from the strip, I would unfold the silver paper to smell the gum again before casually popping it into my mouth like in the commercials.
This exact scent spreads when I spray “YUMA” on my wrist; I love this 80’s vibe that takes over my mind.
What I completely miss, however, is the “crispe” alpine air. The icy wind from the bottle. In my opinion, Fischersund with “Utilykt” and WienerBlut with “Nord Du Nord” have managed this much better, even though the approach of the two fragrances is different, the clarity and freshness are much more noticeable.
YUMA has nothing to do with that for me; I like YUMA and I am fascinated by the constant 80’s flashback that I get from my wrist. But unfortunately, the flashback on the skin fades away very quickly.
CONCLUSION: If you like mint, you should rather go for “Undergrowth” by ROOK. It costs half as much with significantly better longevity and sillage.

Liquid Mountain Air in a Bottle

When I learned through the Pernoire newsletter that a new fresh perfume was being released, it immediately piqued my curiosity. The image of the bottle frosted with mint... interesting.

On the day of its release, I requested a free sample. Exemplary as Pernoire does with new perfumes, you only have to cover the shipping costs; the sample (2ml) is completely free. I like that.

First of all, the scent is wonderfully executed, and you couldn't make a more accurate description. It is not loud, clean, clear, and quietly confident. Freshness with depth.

It reminds me of a snowboarding holiday in Switzerland 20 years ago. At 3500 meters altitude, this pure, calm, clear air, pleasant and totally soothing. This perfume brought back that beautiful memory for me.

And that is exactly what the scent is meant to convey. This cold, clear air paired with mint & yuzu, wonderfully authentic in excellent quality.

After a while, a slightly spicy ginger note mixes in, and in the later drydown, it becomes slightly woody.

In my opinion, it also leans ever so slightly towards the Torino21 direction, but really just a hint. Nevertheless, I think that if you love Torino21, you will also really like Yuma.

A truly great release for the upcoming spring/summer and a recommendation for warm or even hot days.

Air Conditioning in a Bottle

I was fortunate enough to acquire the fragrance on the very first day of the pre-release, on February 6, 2026, and I was able to test it extensively over several days.
The opening is incredibly cold thanks to the mint - almost like a blast of air from an air conditioner. Citrus fruits join in par excellence. The mountain air accord is really noticeable; it reminded me of a ski lift. Specifically, one like in the past, without heated seats and a plastic dome: The wind hits you full force in the face and icicles grow on your beard.

Unfortunately, the effect doesn’t last very long. After a short time, Yuma loses its longevity and unfortunately also its sillage. It’s not a fragrance for “penny pinchers,” as you need to reapply it multiple times a day.

Nevertheless, the fragrance is absolutely worth the purchase! Testing it yourself is essential.
