Incredible!
I purchased this after going through several samples and decants of Angel Share.

I have only recently gotten on the Angel Share bandwagon, after purchasing a Kilian Discovery set. The scent profile never piqued my interest, but after I smelled it, I was hooked.

I decided to try Angelic Elixir first before making the purchase of a full bottle of Angels’ Share, as I am notorious for going crazy for a scent then dropping it after a while.

My bottle was purchased secondhand, so it had plenty time to settle and lose any DUA DNA (as they call it) prior to my trying it. When I first smelled the scent from the cap I was in true disbelief on how incredible it was!!

The opening has more cinnamon than Angels’ Share, and it is a little more dense and sweet. After the dry down, they are very close, with this having a tad less vanilla. It remains a little more dense, but is so beautiful.

I would certainly recommend for anyone who loves AS and doesn’t want to commit to a whole bottle.

Divide and Conquer
There is this fragrance that, by name, is ready to share with the angels (or rather, to grant them their share). It is an extremely hyped, very expensive, and very often sold-out scent. And you can't possibly talk about "Angelic Elixir" without mentioning that other one, because it is an open secret that Dua's Elixir is a replica. Not "inspired by," but really "copied as well as we could."
I wouldn't have ordered the Dua specifically in the USA if I had found the longevity and sillage of the original convincing. I have such silly skin that absorbs everything in no time, and for that, Kilian is simply too expensive. (I have a decant, and I tried it: If I don't generously reapply twice throughout the day, I can't make it from nine to five.)

A brief note on Kilian (to which everything has actually been said, see there): I find it wonderful. Not masculine at all, not boozy, not too cinnamon-y, not too anything. Just beautiful, alluring, deliciously sweet without becoming syrupy; spicy without being edible. And surprisingly suitable for home just as much as for outside. Truly a work of art, with the aforementioned problems.
When I read here that "Angelic Elixir" is supposed to be very close, but stronger, I had to try it.

Now the fragrance is here, and I am totally blown away. Anyone who sprays one of the scents (Original & Dua) on each arm can certainly find small nuances here and there that don't match exactly. But for me, it's not about a specific note, but about the overall composition, and that is simply brutally convincing. The scent impression is nearly 1:1.

I find the sillage of both fragrances not too powerful, but that is rather a plus point for me: Especially with this kind of warm, comforting perfumes, not everyone needs to know that I'm wearing it. The world is full of strange characters, and I don't need to make a charming impression from many meters away :-)

Given the price, the question of longevity is no longer so dramatic here, but it is indeed better. And because I didn't want to keep this good news to myself, I gave the Elixir its first review.

If Dua had the kindness to share this fragrance with the European market without the known acrobatics, they would dominate the bestseller lists, don't you think?

Large recurring discussions on this site revolve around designer vs. niche, sillage, longevity, and of course the scent itself. When is a fragrance "niche-worthy," and when is it a designer? The fragrance itself, as experience shows, plays only a partial role in this categorization. Complexity, scent evolution, but also the inclusion of materials and fragrance experiences beyond the mainstream, up to animalic-dirty notes, are more characteristic of niche perfumes. However, since many so-called niche fragrances also come across as rather simple and under-complex, and designers sometimes release great and complex perfumes, the suspicion arises that targeted marketing and pricing policy also play a role.
Longevity and especially sillage are also often cited arguments for or against a fragrance. A shy projection is often not appreciated, especially in expensive fragrances, although even a good scent can become problematic if it takes over entire rooms.

In this context, Dua has established itself as a provider from the USA and Dubai, which consistently focuses on high-quality dupes of well-known and lesser-known fragrances, offering them in 30ml bottles and marketing them from the States at very reasonable prices. I have tested 10 of these fragrances so far and am quite impressed. The dupes are incredibly well done (e.g., Popped Cherry vs. Lost Cherry, or Royal Charriot Attar vs. Layton), with some clearly surpassing the reformulations. For example, Error 404 is as good as the original Le Mâle, and thus clearly more exciting than today’s version. The same goes for Poseidon's Elixir 11Z, which draws on the early and (in my opinion) superior Aventus from 2011. Additionally, longevity is often longer than that of the originals, and the sillage is better dosed. Weaker fragrances like Lost Cherry project better than the original, while very strongly projecting scents like Naxos are somewhat toned down - which I personally prefer, as I don't want to be perceived in a wide radius around me. A perfume is ultimately something intimate - just imagine how a conference room would smell if all participants were equipped with strongly projecting perfumes. Unimaginable... The Dua sprayers all dose very carefully, so that the concentration can simply be personalized and adjusted according to needs. Just be careful with light-colored clothing, as sometimes high oil content can leave stains.

However, my absolute favorite among my 10 Duas is a fragrance that I do not know in its original form. Therefore, I cannot judge whether the copy is close or not, but that doesn't matter at all. This fragrance is simply a hit. Angelic Elixir. A dream that opens somewhat irritably in the first seconds, like when first opening a cognac bottle, with a powerful alcoholic sweetness that almost makes one feel a bit tipsy, and then transitions into a wonderfully composed blend of cognac with chocolate, vanilla, tonka bean, and just a hint of cinnamon. The scent is gourmand, but not overly sweet and can be worn well both in the office and at the opera. It does not induce hunger but rather exudes a cozy feeling. Over time, it becomes very mildly woody, and if I didn't know better, I would have also detected a bit of musk. Thus, the fragrance remains well-lasting, becomes warmer over time, and is therefore perfect from autumn to April. Angelic Elixir now belongs in my personal perfume Olympus, and as much as I regret it, I will not test the original, Angel's Share, at 3-4 times the price and instead reorder a reserve bottle from the USA - better safe than sorry, as Dua often has fragrances "out of stock."

Another angel falls from the sky.
Beautiful scent that joins the ranks of popular boozy gourmands like Angels Share, Khamra, Dates Delight, Oajan. While each has its personal touch, so does Angelic Elixir.

I would generally describe Angelic Elixir as somewhat fresher than the others, and amusingly, the later development of the fragrance reminded me 1:1 of "His Majesty The Oud | Atkinsons" by Atkinsons.

Anyone looking for a scent similar to Angels Share has a good alternative here.

Student Surpasses Master
I am a fan of the original!
In honor of the creativity and craftsmanship of every fragrance creator. The history and signature of each one is unique and tells a story.

And despite my preference for the original, I can certainly understand those who cannot or do not want to pay such horrendous prices.
Well, everyone to their own.

In conclusion, I can say that "The Dua Brand" does an amazing job in relation to the original and especially regarding the price. It borders on blasphemy, however, I find the try down of the replica to be somewhat more pleasant than that of the original. Contrary to my initial skepticism, this brand has been able to convince me very positively.

Such a wonderful perfume, even better than the original, and it lasts probably more than 5 hours on my warm skin, I adore it.

Incredibly close to the original. Cheeky! ;) Only the P/L is much better! If I didn't have the original, this would be my Angels' Share.

A spiced cinnamon praline falls into a cognac barrel and immediately gets cavities. Unpleasantly syrupy sweet and alcoholic.

Top note is a bit fruitier than AS, in the drydown it's 95% identical. In the air, I can't tell the difference. Best value for money.

Less boozy than Angels Share - softened by musk cream. Much more synthetic and masculine. In this genre, I like Oajan the best.

Sweet fruity twin to Kilian's Angel's Share that I perceive as rounder and smoother... Performance at Champions League level... TOP!

This is the Chuck Norris version of the Kilian scent. If the original is too weak for you, you'll be happy here. If it's too strong, you're too weak.
