What is happiness? Do you believe in fate? Does a black cat bring bad luck?
Hey folks, I'm back and "bringing" you a new fragrance! Well, better said, a new comment. Because if I were to bring each one of you a new fragrance here,... phew, I'd quickly become a poor man, he he :D
So,... today I'm trying "Fortune" by Dua Fragrances, which could be translated as happiness or fate. How about you? Do you believe in fate? I'm not so sure about that, but I have to admit that sometimes I feel like someone has it in for me, a dark power (not THE dark side of the Force :D), that is annoying and bothersome and… well, you probably know those feelings too, the ones you have from time to time. I think such thoughts and feelings have probably led to things like superstition. Superstitions like, for example, that you should never cross the path of a black cat… pah, as if, I would grab that cat and cuddle it until it can't take it anymore :D (well, if it allows it, of course :)))
So, what is happiness then? Well, that's also a question that everyone has to answer individually for themselves. Some are happy with wealth, while others are satisfied with much less. I personally think that like most people, I would be significantly happier with the combination of "good job," "nice home," and,… of course… "nice wife." I think I wouldn't mind becoming rich and powerful… (ah, those are always the beginnings of megalomania… :DD). Hmm,… becoming a Hollywood star!! That would be it! I’d shoot the movie "The Perfume, Part 2," mu ha ha! :DD
One thing would definitely have to be in my life: I would need to live in an environment where I am surrounded by cats, even the dreaded black cats, as long as those ungrateful little furballs, who often behave like jerks, are "within reach" of me, he he :DD
So now comes a fragrance with this name. The question is: What does happiness smell like? Or fate? Hopefully not like coriander that makes you want to run away…
For quite a long time, cinnamon and honey are the strongest scent notes, with cinnamon particularly shining through. Towards the end, the scent becomes a bit warmer, and you can also smell a bit more of spicy and woody notes, as well as something resinous like incense.
Ah, this fragrance is one of those scents that, despite the low citrus notes, immediately conveys the impression of a cold winter, where you are sitting in a warm room in your house (preferably in front of a fireplace, oh, I wish I had one!), snuggled up in the softest blankets, leaning back on cozy pillows, with a cup of hot chocolate with a snowman made of marshmallows in one hand and cat treats in the other, as the cat won't leave you alone because it absolutely wants to know what's in the cup and keeps climbing on you or jumping on you! :D
Ideally, it should also be snowing so that you can see the beautiful snowflakes gently falling to the ground, sparkling and softly illuminated by the reflections of the lanterns outside through the window. That would be a little bit of "happiness," to come back to the name of the fragrance, but we all know that the likelihood of it snowing a lot here in Germany is rather low, especially unfortunately during Christmas time, we probably won't have a white Christmas as usual *sigh*
Anyway, winter is still a lovely time, even if you loudmouths are already longing for the next summer, even though we have just started autumn :D
Be that as it may, this fragrance is a lovely, warm, and sweet winter scent that is definitely worth trying, as long as you have nothing against cinnamon or a rather spicy honey. By the way, the scent is unisex, as it comes across as a somewhat softer and nicer mix of Thierry Mugler's A*Men and Angel (at least to me). And you can use it either for snuggling or of course for going out!
So, that's it from me again, I wish you all a lovely evening, until next time :)

The scent:
The scent starts warm-citrusy. By citrusy, I don't mean that the fragrance is fresh and zesty, but rather that you can definitely perceive notes like lemon or bergamot, without thinking of summer. The scent is much warmer and sweeter. There is especially cinnamon, which gives off a wonderful, almost Christmas-spicy sweetness. There's also honey, which comes across as sweet and spicy and conveys a wintry impression. A bit of lavender seems to make the scent appear a little more mature, and softer notes like cashmeran (which I can't perceive on its own as I don't know how cashmeran smells pure) and vanilla make the scent softer. For quite a long time, cinnamon and honey are the strongest scent notes, with cinnamon particularly shining through. The sillage and longevity:
The sillage is strong; the scent will definitely be noticed by someone, even if they are standing a bit further away, as the fragrance can also be quite room-filling. The longevity is also very good, as the scent was still somewhat detectable on my skin the next day.The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular and clear. It is "wrapped" in a large label that is yellow and has oriental patterns and Arabic script on it. The name of the fragrance appears once on the front and once in a much larger font on the sides. The cap can either be cylindrical and chrome-plated or rectangular and transparent. All in all, it's quite nice, but not particularly beautiful.Ah, this fragrance is one of those scents that, despite the low citrus notes, immediately conveys the impression of a cold winter, where you are sitting in a warm room in your house (preferably in front of a fireplace, oh, I wish I had one!), snuggled up in the softest blankets, leaning back on cozy pillows, with a cup of hot chocolate with a snowman made of marshmallows in one hand and cat treats in the other, as the cat won't leave you alone because it absolutely wants to know what's in the cup and keeps climbing on you or jumping on you! :D
