Arabians Tonka alternative for under €11
Taraf (black) is my first perfume from Zimaya, which in my opinion belongs to Afnan.
I have already had good experiences with Afnan and since the price was right, I thought why not.
The notes also looked very appealing, so not much could go wrong, I thought.
As soon as I picked up my package, I sprayed it on and immediately knew what it cloned.
I was able to test the original this year.
Unfortunately, I don't have it to make a 1:1 comparison, but that's exactly how I remember it.
Probably not identical, but close enough to say that it is at least an alternative to Arabians Tonka.
Even the notes are very similar, so for just under €11, this is tops.
Now to the fragrance:
At the beginning, I perceive a rather pungent saffron note with a medicinal oud.
This sounds terrible for most people, including me, because I don't like saffron or oud, but I do like rose and sugar, and these become more and more prominent in the DD and harmonize perfectly with the saffron and oud.
As a result, the spicy/medical notes fade more and more into the background.
What remains is a sweet, rosy, oriental fragrance with a pleasant saffron and oud combination.
I would describe the rose here as a "black rose".
It is very dark and masculine because it becomes increasingly woody as the DD progresses.
But at the same time very noble.
The whole thing is already very niche.
The performance is not as strong as the original.
However, the original also costs about 11 or 12 times as much, so you have to keep that in mind.
For a few hours you have a nice, sweet, oriental cloud around you that is not too intrusive, but you definitely notice it.
The longevity is also quite ok.
The fragrance lasts for days on clothes.
All in all, I can only say I have not regretted the purchase.
I don't know how long the perfume will be available for less than 11 euros, but it's really worth every penny.
Fans of Arabians Tonka who find the original too expensive should buy it here before it's gone.
