Dark honey fragrance

Greetings everyone,

I am looking for a dark, resinous, a nit animalic honey/beewax fragrance.

Notes I may like: Rose, Iris, tuberose all kinds of resins

Notes I'ld avoid: Oud, very strong spices (it may just smell like a cookie, what I don't want).

Price - about 250 pro 50 ml is acceptable. (It may go slightly higher)

Bottle: I know, that might sound silly, but I'ld it to be in a beautiful bottle and to have an interesting story. Something like Slowdive just looks to boring to me.

Me and honey: I got obsessed with honey for an unknown reason recently. But I wouldn't say I like all kinds of honey. Most of honey fragrances either don't smell like honey at all and just smell like syrup or just way to light and not interesting (Naxos)

I personally find honey to poses - when used right - some very mysterious, a bit old-fashioned and suddictice qualities.

Darker honey that I know it is Moth but you asked for no spices and there are spices there, but if your fear is it can smell gourmand this is absolutely not the case.

I am afraid, my scin eats the sweetness very fast, and the spices are way to present.

I do like Tobacco/honey combo. However I find Naxos to be to light so to speak.

Soir de Lune is a black honey fragrance.

Strange, I thought it was a chypre. Nonetheless thank you very much? Would you have some further recommendations by chance?

I kept going back and forth on writing a recommendation here because the scent I want to recommend is way out of the price range you mentioned but now I have decided to mention it anyway: Devil's Breath is the darkest honey I've ever tested but it is expensive AF, I can't afford a full bottle myself so I keep buying decants 😅 it's such a unique dark honey scent, though... Please ignore oud in the basenotes as it is not noticeable at all, I am a hater of 99.9% of oud scents myself and I loved this one. It is smoky and resinous and quite animalic.

@valhelsingv hm, interesting. I must admit, i didn't have Devil's Breath on the radar in this regard.

Honestly, I was afraid, it would be very dark woody-coffee fragrance, something like Black Afgano Extrait de Parfum .

If you would be so kind to describe it to me, I'ld be grateful.

PS: Although price is diabolical, I guess I could do it.

@Alperten I hated Black Afgano, so Devil's Breath is definitely not the same 😀

Hm, to describe it... It does have a noticeable coffee note, and like I said, it is smoky. I tried most of the Maison Jaxob releases so far, and Devil's Breath was my favorite, even though I did not expect it from the notes. Somehow, everything in it works - the juniper is not your standard "aftershave" juniper, honey is not overly sweet, coffee is only strong in the opening, and civet is animalic but not pissy (although I like civet in all its variations). Tonka and oud are not noticeable to my nose at all, which, for me, was a blessing. What really surprised me (and why I am recommending this scent) is that the honey note is more noticeable than I anticipated. It is kind of at the center of the scent, even though it is not extremely strong. I guess I liked how dark, complex, and sexy the scent is. Of course, this is my very subjective opinion, so please do not blind-buy this overpriced perfume 😅 If you want, I can send you a sample to test if you pay the shipping

Hi, @Alperten . It's a chypre dominated by a dark, raw honey that reads vintage to my nose. It's one of those controversial Ropion scents that carries you through an interesting journey full of twists and turns. Not a crowd pleaser, but definitely worth sampling if you favor dark honey.

The other honey perfumes I like ( IV-II Ray-Flection, Onder de Linde Eau de Parfum ) are sunny and light, and don't fit the description of dark honey that you're searching for.

Slowdive is anything but boring to me.

I love a dark honey. My dad keeps bees, and the smell of the hive is so distinctive. I would recommend trying Back to Black, Aphrodisiac Perfume which gives me that resinous honey/ hive scent. My current honey is Strings of Light in the Forest Extrait de Parfum which is to my nose a beautiful honey and timber scent.

Coming back to the thread to mention Tell the Bees , it's a new release from Necros, and it is dark honey, wax, and beekeeper's smoke, all the way

Check out TA-02 , it fits the description of animalic, resinous beeswax-honey to a T.
