I know eBay is full of listings but I haven’t seen Avon actually sell this in their catalog for a while. This is a wonderful fragrance for the price and after it sitting in a cool dark cupboard for years which almost lead to it being thrown out actually made it better. Anyone who grabbed this knows how much of gem this is.

Amber doesn't really have a smell of its own and many manufacturers interpret this note in wildly different ways, so it would be helpful to know what kind of smell you associate to amber, or what amber fragrances you've liked in the past that lead you to look for more.

I know it's a kind of fantasy note.  I like different kinds of amber, which is why I just asked foljs for their favorites.  My purchase criteria is just "modern."  

Without knowing anything more than I did yesterday, I recommend Molecule 02 for a very clean, definitely modern amber, Ambra Aurea for something warmer, thicker and still not at all ambergris-like stinky, and Machrie for fresh, somewhat animalic, mineral amber.

Same as before though, knowing more about your tastes would help offering suggestions that make sense for you :p

But you still made some good suggestions! I'm really looking for something different, that I might not ordinarily choose. Seeing what other folks like most is helpful. I'm just in an experimental stage.

Amber Absolute and Ambre sultan Eau de Parfum were already mentioned but I think they really deserve your attention !

I'm not sure how to interpret your ask for something 'modern' but I guess maybe check out "Ambre Nuit | Dior" which is an amber but not super traditional.

By modern, I just meant something released in the last few years. I'm very curious about other people's favorite version of particular notes. I am a perfume busybody.
