Hi everyone! My name is Lucy and I live in Tennessee which is in the southeast United States (but the way things are going I might be checking Canada out soon lol) where I work as a veterinary assistant. I graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2023 with a degree in animal science and hope to return in the near future for vet school! When I'm not working I love playing video games and dancing (especially ballroom, my favorite dances are East Coast Swing and Tango!) and spending time with my friends and cat.

I've recently gotten into fragrance; I have a mind map of sorts set up with all of my perfumes and their common notes so I can experiment with mixing and matching. I've been reviewing quite a few fragrances because I have a few sample sets I've bought plus whenever I go into a store that sells perfume I like to try something new. I joined Parfumo back in January but this is my first forum post. I've been too busy having fun exploring all the fragrances on here. It's nice to meet all of y'all!

U.S.-based healthcare worker who can only wear fragrance on my days off. I have been stuck in the 80s and 90s with my big, bold, and beloved ambers (Chopard Casmir and Chanel Coco). I'm looking to educate myself about fragrance. I'm happily sampling more vintage classics (Guerlain's Shalimar, Mitsouko, and Jicky) as well as modern niche scents (Zoology and Francesca Bianchi). I'm happy to have discovered this community and I've enjoyed reading so many thoughtful, evocative reviews and comments. Thanks, everyone.

Hi, I'm a long term user of the German Parfumo site, but just discovered, that there's also an international version. I'm German, but I live in Italy where I settled down. Previously I used to live/study/work in France, South Korea, China, Morocco and briefly in the US.

I'd like to help filling this place with activity as for me it doesn't matter if I have to write in German or English. It's also interesting to read the perspectives of fragrance lovers from all over the world.

Hello everyone,

I've been passionate about perfumery for the past 9 years. I enjoy exploring fragrances, analyzing compositions, and everything related to the world of scents. I live in Warsaw and work as a psychotherapist.

Looking forward to interesting discussions.

Hello everyone! I live in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, and am almost 70 years old. I’m Italian American, and have always loved sent. My signature sent is Cinema by Yves St. Laurent. Some of my current favorites are Amazing Grace by Philosophy, Flower Bomb Ruby Orchid by Victor and Rolf, and Cloud by Arianna Grande. I love amber and sandalwood, white florals, and powdery notes.

I dislike most gourmands, tobacco, and patchouli.

I have a lot of time on my hands, and would love to chat with you.

It’s not the bottle I treasure,
but the way fragrance remembers for me —
the warmth of a voice, the hush of a season,
the softness of a self I thought I had lost.
I wear perfume to stay connected
to everything I’ve loved,
and everything still unfolding.
I’m Milichka — and scent is how I travel through time.

Craig, mid 20s, Midwest USA. Like @Chrysoptera I'm in healthcare and enjoy fragrance in a forbidden fruit way. Currently in a modern niche moment, everything I wear is unisex because I like to smell like a garden store. Offline I'm reading The Master and Margarita and random Frank O'Hara poems. Nice to meet you all 🛀

Hello. Mergs here. Just a guy who really loves fragrance and is really passionate about it. I have a background in organizational psych and I aspire to one day conduct a more formal research project on the link between our sense of smell and how it impact our day-to-day cognitive abilities. Not sure if that will ever actually happen, but one day.

Came here hoping to find like minded folks who are interested in fragrance but in a similar vein as such. This has been a somewhat fraustrating hobby because even though I LOVE fragrance, it also seems to attract a lot of the exact types of people I don't like to be around. People focused on labels, focusing on the sole ability to impress others, etc. A lot of the classism in the fragrance community also disgusts me on a personal level, as someone who came from a very underprivledged background. I think good scents can be found everywhere with an open mind. regardless of PRICE. I believe everyone should deserve to feel like they are expressing who they are and enjoying it regardless of their economical standing. (Anytime someone says something like "its smells like its price" gives me ick so bad. It makes me want to turn around and say "okay and you smell like debt lol")

ANYWAYS I love finding out what sorts of odd scents people collect and why. I love watching people yap about their curated and themed collections on youtube and such. Fragrance is just so fascinating and revealing! Enjoying my journey on and hope to share it with lovely people.

Still trying to find the best way to describe the type of scent profiles I love. I personally think I love anything thats "cozy". I love a good creamy vanilla and I love a good clean, uplifting spring/summer scent.

Laddy here !🙂

I am currently 35 and living in Canada. I have only recently really dove into fragrances after dipping my toes in 3/4 years ago.

I started by getting into Dior's lineup. Fahrenheit really was one of the first scents I truly fell in love with despite it being so polarizing. I then started getting into the YouTube side of the fragrance community next.

At this moment I have been diving into the dupes/inspired by fragrances, mostly lattafa at the moment. I would like to get a decent little collection going but I don't want to be dishing out thousands off the bat 😂

Hi, @MergScents . Cute icon.
I read a book about why scents affect the brain. In Japan, we are an aging society, so research on dementia is progressing, and it is said that essential oils have a great effect on the brain.
And I understand what you are trying to say. Honestly.
Also, the reason why I didn't like Green Tea Lychee Lime, which you like, is because, as you said, our backgrounds are different. In my country, we don't put fragrances or sugar in green tea. So I have an aversion to green tea having floral or fruity scents. In other words, it was an unusual smell for me. On the other hand, in countries where green tea is not consumed regularly, it is common to put sugar in it, right? This is a difference in perception.
I want the scent of vanilla ice cream. I think the reason is that it is associated with happy memories of childhood.

Funny enough, I actually completely understand the stance on EA Green Tea, idr where but I watched a video essay of someone discussing the line and how it is not typically associated with the same scent memory of "tea" from a non-westernized standpoint, which I thought was fascinating. I am actually curious to try more green tea scents as a result. I have had trouble sourcing some that dont align more with matcha, which I am admittedly, not the biggest fan of in my experience.

Wish I could help more with the ice cream hunt but I am not very well versed in that scent profile. Sad I know Amore Caffè but I have never tested so idk how pure of an "ice cream" scent this may be.

@MergScents Hi, that's very interesting. In fact, in Southeast Asia, where it's hotter than Japan, people often drink green tea with a tropical flavor and sugar. Also, in Taiwan and China, green tea with sugar is sold in plastic bottles. But the traditional Chinese way of drinking tea is without sugar. It seems that Japan is actually the only country where people regularly drink tea without sugar, whether it's in a plastic bottle or made at home. It's interesting.
I think there are a lot of people who don't like matcha. I can understand why.In fact, I wrote a little bit about it on my blog.
Thank you. It's hard to get mancera in my country. That's why I just look at this note. lol but I like the smell of coffee.
It was a longwinded message, but I just wanted to say that I agree with your values. And I missed your Digimon Adventure icon. lol

Hello all!  I'm ジェット or Jett and I live in Japan.  I've always loved scents but only recently began to get into perfume as a hobby and not just a thing to buy occasionally.  I'm still very "unsophisticated" in that I can appreciate a truly unique or designer fragrance but I get plenty of joy from affordable, simple perfumes so I really only collect those for the sake of my wallet.  I can get behind almost any accord or 'genre' of fragrance but I find myself gravitating to fruity gourmands for daily wear.

I'm so fascinated by how subjective fragrance is and its strong connection to memory... I never buy the same bottle twice, so I can forever associate that scent with the time in my life that I wore it.  Which is not always a good thing, mind you!  Some perfumes smell like trauma, lol.

Excited to learn from everyone here and discover more about the best fragrances available here in Tokyo!
