Instant love!
This was one of those love att fist sniff perfumes for me. It just feels so comforting with its almost burnt sugar, warm spicy vanilla and creamy woody goodness, it reminds me of something from my childhood but I can't put my finger on it. It's just love, instant love.
A full bottle is on my wishlist.

Creamy Sexy Vanilla Musk
This is one of my favorites from Commodity. I love Milk as well. It is a unisex scent leaning a bit masculine. It's warm, mellow, sweet and creamy. I pick up on the vanilla, sandalwood and musk. I brought the sample I had on a trip with me and sprayed it in front of my teenage daughter. She immediately asked me what it was because she liked it. She asked if I could spray some on her too before we went out to dinner.

Expressive Gold
On paper, I am met by a gorgeous scent, but I'm also experiencing déjà vu. Gold has the same scent profile as Milk and Velvet. Sweet, creamy, warm. That in itself is quite anticlimactic. Don't get me wrong, the fragrance is gorgeous, but I have been smelling something similar for the last couple of days.

So how is it on the skin? Hopefully like Velvet, very different from on paper.
Oh yes, on skin there is a fresher minty note at top (the juniper berries). It evaporates after a minute, but it lingers after the scent has dried down.

A couple of minutes in and I almost cannot smell it anymore. What is it in Commodity fragrances that is so incompatible with my chemistry?

I love the contrast of the juniper with the warm, sweet vanilla and amber, but to experience it, I have to reapply it many times within just half an hour!

I honestly thought my choice would be a battle between Milk and Gold, but reaching back in my memory, I am leaning more towards Velvet and Milk.

Gold is a wonderful fragrance if you can smell it.
However, my Commodity journey was supposed to finish with a bang, but it ended up with a fizzle.

Woody Amber, not Green Vanilla
This is one of those perfumes that likely smells completely different on everyone, but on me it’s not vanilla at all, just a straight up amber with some wood. And amber can be a tricky note, some days it’s extremely potent, huge sillage, sickly sweet and gives me a headache. And then other days it completely disappear and I can’t smell a thing. I don’t know if it’s hormonal, the weather, or what the reason is, but that inconsistency makes it a very difficult fragrance to wear, despite it being a super simple composition. Please test before buying, I for one am grateful I only have a travel size.

Underwhelmed
On the testing strip, this smelled amazing! Yet on my skin, it started to smell like something from Bath and Body Works. It reminded me so much of Warm Vanilla Sugar which my college roommate basically lived in. There's nothing bad about it, but it just does not evoke a higher price point for me on my skin.

This is lovely. Creamy, sweet, musky, a little woody. Gentle, cozy. With time, smells a bit like an orange creamsicle.

A sweet powdery woody vanilla. Powder is very noticeable, the vanilla is more boozy & the woody-ness is on the creamy side.
