Since LV released Pacific Chill, a bunch of reviewers claimed they got chills, though not the kind you’d expect. While a few skeptics grumbled about performance, the truth is: this fragrance is a masterclass (seriously) in fresh composition, and those doubting its longevity might want to double-check if their bottle is authentic. On the other hand, I agree that other "freshies" by LV (e.g.
Afternoon Swim) don't perform well.
Yet LV has been consistently delivering scents that not only smell great, but also perform where many niche brands fall short - given the difficulty of balancing the fleeting nature of certain notes with fixatives.
Pacific Chill's opening is a juicy, zesty burst of citrus, blackcurrant and a very distinctive apricot. Bright, uplifting, and refreshing. As it settles, the herbal heart adds a green vibe, somehow reminiscent of a juice. The dry-down develops into a soft, musky fig and ambrette base that lingers on skin for a while.
As already implied at the beginning, despite being a fresh scent, Pacific Chill lasts all day. Easily 6-8 hours on skin (on clothes, until the day after) with a moderate projection for the first 2 to 3 hours.
The obvious use case is summer (bonus ParfumoPoints if you wear a Hawaiian shirt too), but given its performance I think that this is a 3 season fragrance, hence with high versatility. Perhaps not ideal for formal/office scenarios, but absolutely great for any casual situation.
Oh, and it is bang on unisex.
