Pacific Chill

8/10. Würde jedem empfehlen, es zu probieren

The Only Chill You Should Worry About Is How Cool This Scent Is
Since LV released Pacific Chill, a bunch of reviewers claimed they got chills, though not the kind you’d expect. While a few skeptics grumbled about performance, the truth is: this fragrance is a masterclass (seriously) in fresh composition, and those doubting its longevity might want to double-check if their bottle is authentic. On the other hand, I agree that other "freshies" by LV (e.g. Afternoon Swim) don't perform well.
Yet LV has been consistently delivering scents that not only smell great, but also perform where many niche brands fall short - given the difficulty of balancing the fleeting nature of certain notes with fixatives.

Pacific Chill's opening is a juicy, zesty burst of citrus, blackcurrant and a very distinctive apricot. Bright, uplifting, and refreshing. As it settles, the herbal heart adds a green vibe, somehow reminiscent of a juice. The dry-down develops into a soft, musky fig and ambrette base that lingers on skin for a while.

As already implied at the beginning, despite being a fresh scent, Pacific Chill lasts all day. Easily 6-8 hours on skin (on clothes, until the day after) with a moderate projection for the first 2 to 3 hours.
The obvious use case is summer (bonus ParfumoPoints if you wear a Hawaiian shirt too), but given its performance I think that this is a 3 season fragrance, hence with high versatility. Perhaps not ideal for formal/office scenarios, but absolutely great for any casual situation.
Oh, and it is bang on unisex.

Cheerful Bright Citrus and Fruits
Walked by a Louis Vuitton boutique and decided to pop in and see if Pacific Chill had landed. It had. From my first sniff I loved it. Wasn’t at first sure when I tried it off a card where it was very much like a lime/orange soda, but when I put it on my skin, it clicked. A bright, fresh, fruity citrus, a combination of orange/clementine and citron. But, unlike many other orange freshies, not synthetic nor overly sweet like an orange scented detergent soap. As it dries down fleshier tropical fruits and berries come forward – although not listed as notes, I get the apricot which could be mistaken for mango, but also grapefruit, guava, and a good dose of blackcurrant, which designer Jacques Cavallier says was his intent. This is no doubt from the combined mid notes of apricot and rose and the base notes of fig and dates, but, make no mistake, this is not a fig-forward perfume. Much brighter, fruitier, and fresher but also, unlike many fresh scents, with a backbone. The ambrette adds a musk/ambroxan quality, which is in the DNA of a large number of Cavallier scents. In the dry down, the peppermint and slight herbal notes come through - coriander as well. And compared to other orange/citrus scents, it has very good longevity.

Jacques Cavallier says he was inspired to make this by while having a detox smoothie in LA and he wanted to create a "detoxifying cologne." I'm not sure I entirely get what this supposed to mean, aside from his inclusion of carrot seed, much less if this has a detoxifying impact, but, for me, it certainly has a clean, uplifting quality.

This is a scent to wear in the spring and summer, and I can particularly see wearing it out informally on a warm evening sitting at an outdoor café or a deck somewhere. Although it
would not be out of place at a summer (non-formal) wedding. Bought it straight out after putting it on. Cheerful. Puts a smile on my face.

The best summer perfume OAT
This is without a doubt in my mind, the best summer perfume I’ve ever layed my nose one. Simply addictive smell that is so well made. Only downside is that it does not last very long for the price you pay. The projection is still pretty good being a summer scent and it’s not your typical citrusy freshie. It’s just a perfect mix of fruits and mint that’s impossible to dislike.
Otherwise, this is a complete masterpiece that I can’t get enough of.

Takes me to Hawaii
I've been looking for a fragrance that takes me beyond every single linear citrus fresh fragrance which lasts 2 hours with an occasional twist of a couple white florals. I tried fruity scent after fruity scent. Cloying, overly sweet, screechy, shampoo-like. But not this one, Pacific Chill is a scent which immediately takes you to a tropical beach setting, sipping on a sweet, but not synthetic freshly made minty apricot cocktail after an initial blast of refreshing yet realistic blast of citrus. Louis Vuitton manages to pull all of this off without butchering it with a synthetic or shower-gel like undertone. It smells completely natural and cleansing to my nose, and very well may do so to yours. For a freshie, it lasts decently at roughly 6 hours. Could be better of course, but it is totally acceptable and for me, is worth because of it's amazing smell.

It doesn't come cheap at £255 retail, but it really is a great investment, because it will likely make you happier than any other summer fragrance. Sample before buying, especially at this price point.

Mostly basil + peppermint to me; mid had something a bit too animalic for me, came across a bit like B.O. or else this would be refreshing.

Pacific Chill is a very pleasant scent for summer. The freshness of mint and basil with a citric-fruity-sweet lemon-peach-fig-dates combo.

Impressively sheer and diaphanous. Wet, almost. No muggy, thick base, but still robust. Probably LV’s best to date? Very interesting. Yes.

Do you want to smell like a Jamba Juice smoothie? Here you go. Sweet semi-tropical + citrus + carrot + a "power greens" booster added.

Fantastic fruity, uplifting scent for spring and summer. Classic LV drydown with musks and ambrox. OK longevity and decent sillage.
