Symphony Louis Vuitton 2021

This smells like synthetic grapefruit toilet bowl cleaner. Performance is good, so if that’s all you care about (looking at you, TikTok), buy this. Is it “fresh?” Sure, in the same way grapefruit body wash is “fresh.” But it smells cheap. Take away the tacky Gehry bottle cap, the fancy name, and the absurd price and this is not special in any way.

Let me start by saying this: this is one of the best fragrance my nose has laid upon.

It starts off with sweet natural realistic citrus which is very pleasant to the nose. After 15 min I can detect some sweet milky yet airy smoothie like scent similar to Pacific Chill but not cloying at all! Though it borrows some parts of Pacific Chill , I cannot detect ginger (as LV suggest).

This fragrance is blended to perfection. There are no notes that sticks out or is unpleasant in any way. It is very airy!

The DNA by itself is rather basic but due to the high quality ingredients, it doesn't smell generic. It is linear and definitely feminine leaning.

The vibe is chic, elegant, refined, understated. This DNA is not loud or attention grabbing.

LV went back to basics and mastered it! The price is extremely high for what it is. And is the only negative about this fragrance.

First of all, I’m a big fan of many LV fragrances and find the others at least decent. The fragrances of LV are mostly easy to wear and mass-appealing, however they are also unique. I understand that many people say that they are not worth the price but in my opinion many of them are. With that in mind I opened the five samples from the five new fragrances of LV which come in a gorgeous new bottle at a very high price tag (450€).
To make things clear, as much as I like the bottle design, the price of those fragrances is not justified.
But let’s talk about the smell anyway. Symphony is the only fragrance from the collection that I see slightly more on the masculine side. It is very citrusy and fresh. When I smelled it the first time, I immediately thought that I know the smell from somewhere. Now, a few days later, I think it’s similar to Creeds Aventus Cologne. I would describe it as denser, thicker and much longer performing.
I could easily smell it 16h after applying. To be honest, it wasn’t projecting at this point anymore, however it’s a fresh scent and it was still there.
So if you search for a long lasting fresh scent, you might put this one on your list.

Overall, I like the scent, but I currently don’t like it 450€-much. After testing the others from the collection too, it is the only one that I probably would go for as a men. For women, I really can suggest trying Dancing Blossom ans Stellar Times.

However all of them don’t seem to be as unique as the ones from the regular collection. I believe that LV has chosen a few good selling niche fragrances, got inspired by them and produced a much denser version of them.

Symphony in fact does have a very simple note make up but a large note make up is not always what makes a fragrance smell better. Yes, Symphony is very expensive but at the same time fragrance is also a luxury.. Some folks are just willing to spend more on ones they particularly enjoy. While it’s price wards most people off I personally can truly find the moneys worth in Symphony.. From the late Frank Gehry’s absolutely gorgeous bottle design to the multi generational master perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud working his absolute magic on the contents inside of this piece of art. Symphony bares inside some of the finest and most quality ingredients one could ask for in a fragrance. This is a stunning, pure citrus extrait and it proves itself as one in olfactory pleasure and staying power. From the opening of Symphony and to the later dry down you are met with a nose piercing euphoria. A citrus dominant fragrance truly cannot get much better than this. As far as the specific notes in Symphony it’s easy to capture.. Your senses are enthralled with a beautiful melody of grapefruit, bergamot, ginger and orange.. they all play off of each other magically. Pure quality and depth in each note creating a pure bliss smelling experience.

I’ve been trying to get on board with the hype surrounding Louis Vuitton’s Symphony, but I’m just not seeing it.

Let’s start with the obvious: the presentation is stunning. The bottle is a work of art—it’s honestly magnificent and looks incredible on a shelf. But, in my opinion, the design alone doesn't come close to justifying that absolutely ridiculous price tag.

As for the scent itself? To be honest, it leans way too close to "high-end laundry detergent" for me. There is a "washing machine gel" vibe that dominates the experience. Don't get me wrong, the ginger note is actually quite pleasant and bright, but everything else surrounding it felt underwhelming. It’s hard not to let the astronomical price point color your judgment—when you’re paying this much, you expect a masterpiece, not something that reminds you of cleaning.

On the performance front, it was a bit of a mixed thing. The projection was surprisingly strong at first, but the longevity on my skin was mediocre at best. By the time the dry down hit, it was practically a skin scent.

I genuinely think Louis Vuitton has some incredible fragrances in their lineup, but Symphony just isn’t one of them.
