I guess it wasn't Louis Vuitton...

I was really excited and quite euphoric when I heard Louis Vuitton bring a new summer fragrance, because I like some creations of Louis Vuitton very much. So I decided to participate in a sharing and my filling I received yesterday. The On The Beach was tested by me now so yesterday and today in detail.

On The Beach is for me a fresh slightly floral summer fragrance with a well recognizable yuzu, neroli notes, these notes are about 10 minutes after spraying on complemented by the spicy notes and bordered, this combination can also be seen in Louis Vuitton Météore well. There is also similarity to Louis Vuitton Sun Song, especially in the top note with the neroli, for me On The Beach seems by the quieter and weaker top note like a weak Sun Song. I don't really love the whole thing as this is not exactly innovative. The next point that bothers me but the most is, the similarity to Note de Yuzu by Heeley, this is still a bit fruitier and fresher, but the similarity can be perceived here clearly.

The whole thing leads me to the result that I ask myself, why should I buy On The Beach, when I can buy Sun Song or even the much cheaper Note de Yuzu from Heeley, which even both have a better performance. In the end, I can only say that this Louis Vuitton is unfortunately a flop, which will not come into my collection, for 30-50€ I might have considered it, but for 225€ certainly not. It simply lacks performance and uniqueness here.

Have a good trip!

In itself, I have nothing at all to do with Louis V., but at the time a certain Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud began around the year 2016 with the work on a new series for men's fragrances. I think the ladies were on it even earlier. I quite liked his creations for Tom Ford or even his Rive Gauche pour Homme. I was appropriately excited about his first Vuitton releases and tested them all right after they came out. Shock infatuated I was in Orage, Parfumos very first review of Ombre Nomade followed.

The fragrances inherent a certain "easy wearability" and yet they all have one thing in common: they contain such a small edge, a small character quarrel, which they stand out a bit from other designer fragrances - in a positive sense. The Perubalsam (smells leathery) in Sur la Route is listed here as an example. Great!

The following Parfums de Cologne could not stand up to it, they are still pleasing today - want to be sold. And yet they are fun, no question, I like Afternoon Swim and Cactus Garden especially, although (or just because?) They are the same not.

"On The Beach", however, has again this little corner that could make it interesting - I'll write you briefly why:
From the nearby beach restaurant (somewhere on the Mediterranean) the wind blows past a baked potato spice vibe - with rosemary and thyme. That's fine and that's the said "edge" that makes the fragrance at least interesting.
I find a tangy-bitter yuzu great, but please not too hand-holding with constantly intervening neroli. Less would have been more.
In the cypress grove ends the nice day by the sea after a few hours. But hey! It is and remains a cologne and thus a short-term refreshment - price or not!

I for my part remain during the day in my wooden hut On the Beach and treat me later rather less a few rounds of water sports at the "Afternoon Swim" and otherwise do not immediately travel to the wonderful green sea in the South Pacific to the "Oceania". Here the wind blows still a stage stronger - but also this flight wants to be paid...

High expectation, deep disappointment

I was really looking forward to this fragrance. When he then arrived very early with me, I wanted to test the fragrance directly. My expectations are now set really high shortly before the summer, but the fragrance does not come close to my expectations...
My first thought was : mixture of Sun Song and California Dream.
And even today I just can not make friends with the fragrance. With the Beach Bzw beach he has nothing to do for me personally. The association with a toilet cleaner is unfortunately very bad, but not absurd....leider...
For me, this fragrance is unfortunately not worthy to wear the LV logo.
I was really very disappointed. Durability also absolutely cheeky. More than 50€ you can really not ask for it.
Only positive is as always the fantastically beautiful flacon....

Tangy and tangy Yuzu summer fun

The summer is slowly coming to an end, and to him it does my beloved bottling of the On the Beach same. The last few days I have increasingly worn all my fillings of fresh citrus summer fragrances and mostly also emptied. As last year, the On the Beach has been one of my absolute favorites, especially in very hot temperatures.

LV offers with its fresh and citrus scents a wide range of fragrances that can be worn well from the beginning of spring to the end of autumn. Some also like as daily Immergeher throughout the year. The On the Beach is for me a fragrance for the very hot temperatures. Also, it was then the fragrance in which I first smelled Yuzu, which stand now has definitely become one of my favorite citrus scents. This bitter and intense citrusy start of yuzu dominates and just makes mood, a tart undertone resonates. Unfortunately, the part is not as long-lasting as usual with the beautiful citrus LV top notes. Further added a lot of spicy notes, some pepper, definitely still rosemary and maybe some thyme, fits super together and gives that certain something. Gradually, yuzu is also replaced by neroli. Nevertheless, it is not a really strong neroli scent for me, for that the note is too little in the center, also the spicy notes are too dominant for that. The pepper note is a very important factor here, along with the neroli. Nevertheless, you should like neroli, otherwise the On the Beach could not please. I myself have so my problems with it, but here I quite like neroli.

Great synthetics I can not determine, great made the fragrance is quite. Especially the herbaceous notes make in combination with yuzu fun. In this combination I have not smelled it before in another fragrance, really special, even if Yuzu could be a bit more long-lasting. Overall, the durability is already a little weaker, the sillage is quite decent for the first 2 hours, for a summer fragrance perfectly fine.

When wearing the fragrance I get an image of blue sky and intense sunshine, over 30 degrees. Here but no exclusive vacation or beach fragrance, rather for me a daily fragrance for hot days, also like to work, because it just gives me a great vacation feeling ready. Some such fragrances I can only wear on vacation, this one also gladly more often. As soon as creamy notes are added to such vacation fragrances, they are for me less suitable for everyday use, but that's no problem with the On the Beach. Could quite appeal to many people who like it citrusy-herbaceous or just intense citrusy-fresh, Neroli fans also get their money's worth.

The often mentioned alternative Le Mâle Pride Edition by JPG is me yet too far away from the On the Beach that he could replace him. The main point for me is that the LV is much more authentic and dynamic. Also, the Pride Edition is super linear, as far as the Nerolinote is concerned, compared to the LV rather boring for my nose. The blood orange is also very nice, but also evaporates very quickly after 5 minutes. Subsequently, I get to smell there only a linear floral soft neroli scent with some musk base. The spicy herbaceous notes of the On the Beach are completely missing the JPG.

Next to the Sur la Route, the On the Beach is probably one of the most independent fresh fragrances of the house. Hardly comparable fragrances, both have their own character, here has probably been served to no known fragrance dna.

Not one but the scent of the beach!

I've been looking for a neroli fragrance for a long time, after I'd settled on one through Bulgari Man Wood Neroli. Because that one was far too weak-chested for me. But neroli? That's summer! The On the Beach now brings my perfect category coverage for me. It's even a little bit more flattering than Imagination, which I also have. Less special but definitely fresher in my eyes. When I spray it on, I think of the beach, the sun, playfulness, freshness, fruit, vacation. I have never smelled a more suitable fragrance for warm days abroad or on the beach. The colorful, playful bottle fits very well and reflects what you get. Of course, like almost all fresh fragrances, not a marathon runner BUT, for example, in contrast to the above-mentioned fragrance, this one lasts twice as long. Several hours for sure. It doesn't fill the room either, but everyone's nose stretches as they walk past. Again, not everyone likes the notes or the fragrance as much as I do. Or would pay this price for it. I would also prefer to pay less, as it would naturally have to perform much better in terms of performance. But it's still a good all-rounder for everyday wear, at least you can't go wrong with it. I don't think the lightness that also suggests a light life is ever really bad. The name simply says it all.
