Authentic mandarin with more of the charm of a colognes
After this release was already a little hyped shortly after this fragrance was released, I had to try it. Fruity fragrances in summer are right up my alley, especially juicy-fruity fragrances like orange, mandarin, etc. After the mega-success of Ginger from the same Rose Arabia series, everyone was naturally looking forward to this mandarin release. First of all, we can of course say that this mandarin is more like a cologne, as this fragrance naturally does not last long. There are no real synthetics here to prolong this creation and so this fragrance is very authentic over the entire course. For 175€/100ml of course nothing for everyone to pay such a price for a freshness kick. Even though I won't be buying it, this great tangerine fragrance still gets a review because this top note really has a great, lively aura with these great fruity notes. However, it will not be able to match the success of Ginger as the overall package is not necessarily that great thanks to the performance.
The Rose Arabia range is really good and the prices are relatively fair by niche standards. The Ginger is a little harder to come by as it is often out of stock in many stores. This Mandarine is of course more readily available and doesn't have as much hype, but it's not a slow seller either.
The packaging and the bottles of this range are really pretty with this great look and the boxes. Very stylish and great for any collection. This fragrance is only available in 100ml, which is great for fresh fragrances, as you can use them more often and they are also good for everyday use.
I have smelled many fruity fragrances with mandarin, in all price ranges. I really like them and in summer they are a blessing in the heat. The scent of this Widian is convincing, but not so much in terms of performance. Nevertheless, you should take a look at the fragrance: It starts with a lot of mandarin, a bit greenish-tart and also those peel vibes that smell so good. The tangerine already smells like pure summer and is joined by fig and lemon. The fig adds lovely juicy, fruity notes and has a slight southern European vibe. There is also a very subtle spiciness to this creation, but it is not overpowering and is rather delicate in the background. There is also light, sparkling neroli, which lends a lively freshness. I don't notice rose geranium and juniper so strongly, but they could play a part. After 1-2 hours, this fragrance becomes quite faint so that you have to smell exactly where you spray it on. The base of labdanum and cedarwood is therefore quite weak. The cedarwood note is still clearly recognizable and gives this fragrance soft woody notes. Otherwise, that's it for this brief pleasure. Overall, a unisex fragrance for everyone, regardless of gender and age. Anyone who uses this fragrance should be a re-sprayer or just for the short freshness kick.
Performance is very discreet as mentioned. Longevity including notes close to the skin should be around 3-4 hours, sillage is probably around 1-2 hours.
In conclusion, I can say that it is a little too expensive for this performance. If you are looking for an authentic mandarin fragrance, you might find it here. Smells very natural, but the competition never sleeps.
