Minty fresh soap bubbles

As a fan of Jean-Claude Ellena's work, I had to try out his own brand and started with this perfume. The fact that the perfumers at the big labels are severely restricted in their creativity by strict guidelines and ideas is omnipresent. That's why I wanted a fragrance that I was sure Ellena had designed entirely according to his own ideas. I was not disappointed.

The fragrance has a green, minty DNA that runs through almost the entire fragrance. Every now and then you notice the verbena. And the gujak wood: it is only very slightly present. Instead of the typical BBQ fragrance, I detect a faint woody note in the background.

What the fragrance has reminded me of since the beginning, however, are the Pustefix bubbles that I often had as a child. I can't explain exactly what combination makes up this "bubble accord". But it is definitely there. It also evokes a little nostalgia in me.

In terms of performance, it can be said that it is somewhat below average for a mainly fresh fragrance. You can hardly smell the fragrance on yourself, and compliments are rather rare unless the person can perceive it through a hug.

A frost where nobody has to freeze!

With the pyramid of fragrances that beckons at the top, I simply had to risk an Xth blind swap. And I was anything but disappointed! Jean Claude Ellena fans will shine a bright light here, because it is one of his minimalist, quieter but haunting creations that should not be underestimated!
And enter a very cool, even cold olfactory world yourself! If you think it's already cold and uncomfortable outside, I can reassure you. Because the fragrance allows you to take a walk on a bright, cold, raw night without freezing. Mint-green ice needles alternate with lemon-yellow hoar frost that covers the trees. Bushes and grasses. Permafrost - even at low altitudes. And it can be all the more severe in valleys and hollows. Even the bark of the trees is covered with the finest ice needles, which give it a delicate, woody scent. And the "galbanum", which is very fresh and green, makes northern lights appear in the sky.
I'm already thinking about the hot summer days to come, which call for a cold refreshment. Because with this "Raunacht zum Aufsprühen" you can certainly make the sweltering heat bearable for quite a while! And now, in the Central European winter, when severe frost has become a rarity, this "Ellena composition" can at least make it seem almost "lifelike"! Wonderful! And without having to freeze! :-))

Walk in the botanical garden

Aqua Millefolia opens wonderfully citrusy and fresh. The mint gives the verbena(vervain) a slight kick and something that almost feels clean/clinical to me. Not synthetic at all but a freshly cleaned scent. I'm sure that sounds off-putting to some now, but it's more pleasant than the toilet association might suggest.
Who likes to walk in the botanical garden, in the greenhouse with the citrus plants is right here. Damp freshness, light Nerolinoten, which can also come through the Gujakholz umwabern the citrus smell and make it minimally deeper and sweeter. Yet the freshness remains throughout, the mint is more noticeable to me now. The scent is strongly reminiscent of a well-maintained greenhouse, with flashing windows, everything thriving and a busy gardener scurrying about the paths. After about three hours, only spicy gujak wood with a slight citrus note is perceptible and leaves a beautiful, woody-fresh aura.

The bottle is well made, is heavy in the hand and the color of the fragrance is simply the madness, this intense green glows almost absinthe colors. For me, this fragrance is a beautifully straight citrus cologne with clear Jean-Claude Ellena signature. If you like the Hermes Jardin range of fragrances, you'll definitely be happy here too. The short longevity doesn't really bother me, but it's not bad at all for a citrusy, fresh scent. Throughout close to the skin Aqua Millefolia is clearly intended as a small private pleasure, just like a walk, admiring the pretty plants, soaking up the smells and then stepping back into everyday life
