take a shower and put your leather pajamas on!
Despite it's simplicity I enjioy wearing Aigner Black..

It's a light aromatic oriental perfume (I own the EDP).
At the beginning it has a leathery clean fresh feeling slightly masculine!
A hint of insence mixed with black pepper and sicilian mandarine gives a refined blend until the Madagascar vanilla together with Japanese Yuzu, sandalwood and musk settle down to your skin giving you at the same time a warm cozy feeling..

I love spraying Aigner Black after taking a shower.. it relaxes me and makes my pajamas smell very fresh!

nights
Aigner black reminds me of times when I went "out on the town" with my girls at night.
A term from the Ruhr area for being out and about, hanging around.
That’s when the old, scuffed motorcycle leather jacket was thrown on, smoky eyes were done, dark lipstick applied, and Aigner black was sprayed on.
The bottle already speaks volumes.
It is black, with a black leather cap.
Dangerous.
Its scent is also woody-smoky - mandarin only briefly flashes through, and then heads in a bitter direction.
The vanilla at the end is also bitter and unsweetened, enhancing the dark leather character.
It is a night fragrance that makes you feel like a femme fatale.
And Patti Smith sang:
Because the night belongs to Lovers....

This fragrance is very dark and mysterious. I associate it with a dimly lit cigar lounge where the powerful men of this world gather and weave their webs. Not many women stray into such a place; if they do, they are mysterious, enigmatic, and unattainable.

The fruity mandarin gives this woody and spicy scent a special sophistication.
A truly interesting and mystical fragrance that belongs to the night and is suitable for cooler seasons. This scent is masculine yet so feminine.

Unrounded
Aigner Black initially smells citrusy fresh (bergamot and mandarin fit) and then develops into a dark, woody-herbaceous direction against a warm, not too sweet background. A few floral notes also play a role, I believe, but they remain rather subdued (or was that the yuzu, a type of citrus fruit, as I learned from Wikipedia). The warm-vanilla base also holds back, so that Black overall is rather unsweet and has a woody-feminine herbaceous quality - without developing a fresh, chypre, or masculine-herbaceous character.

I do like woody notes and unsweet scents, yet I didn't particularly enjoy Black because I found it unharmonious - too smooth is nothing, but unharmonious is also nothing. Black wavers quite indecisively between sweet-vanilla and herbaceous-woody for a long time at the beginning, which struck me as clumsy and unrounded. And the wood note that remains at the end (I can hardly believe it should only be sandalwood) has a rather synthetic-scratchy quality.

In any case, there are fragrances that execute this concept of little sweetness and a lot of wood in a much more decisive and harmonious way, the first that comes to mind is Feminite du Bois by Shiseido, released in 1992.

Love it. Dark, warm, somehow sexy and a little rebellious.

Warmer, fuller treat, not too heavy, beautifully vanilla-woody. Great composition, unfortunately discontinued.

Lightly woody, powdery, beautiful. Used to be one of my favorites, back in the day.
