Well-Groomed Noble Rose
Next up is a release from the house of Ajmal. A great brand from the Arab region that offers some really nice affordable fragrances. There are also a few releases that are a bit pricier, but overall everything is in a quite affordable range. This brand hasn't really made a big breakthrough or hype, but there are some exciting scents in their lineup.
The Evoke line is already a bit more well-known, as it includes a twin of Prada L'Homme. This Evoke for Her is also somewhat known, as it is a twin of the wonderful Dior Prive fragrance "Gris Dior / Gris Montaigne (Eau de Parfum) | Dior." I really like this original a lot, but not so much that I would pay that hefty price. You do get a lot, but it's not a scent I can wear that often. So it's even better that there are great alternatives available. This one is an absolutely fantastic alternative, and the unlisted brand Maison Alhambra also has a pretty solid twin.
This fragrance is priced at around €25 for 75ml. It's absolutely worth it if you like this direction from Gris Dior. The box is really pretty with golden glitter, and the bottle is quite creative with that hole in the middle and this cool silhouette. This Evoke for Her is, of course, a women's fragrance, but men who like Gris Dior can also enjoy this one.
Right after spraying, you immediately notice the similarities and the DNA of the original. The top note is really well captured and can also impress with its quality. The main player throughout is clearly the rose. A lovely clean and slightly soapy rose that simply appears noble and well-groomed. There is also a wonderful patchouli note that is present throughout. The floral heart note of iris and jasmine adds soft and relaxed vibes. Additionally, there is a stylish and not too overpowering vanilla sweetness. In the base, labdanum also comes into play, leaving a wonderful warm and sensual impression. Overall, this is a really great alternative to Gris Dior, which performs quite well for this price. In detail and also in terms of raw materials, the Dior is of course a bit nicer, but this Ajmal does its job in the air.
Performance is of course not in the league of a Dior Prive, but you get a lovely warm rose scent for many hours. I estimate around 6-8 hours. The sillage is really good at first, becoming more intimate after 2-3 hours. However, you can still catch some scent later on.
Overall, a great alternative for those who don't want to spend too much money. A wonderful rose fragrance that leaves a great serious and well-groomed impression.
