Musc Immortel Atelier des Ors 2017

Very dry and aromatic. It almost transports me into a lush herbal garden in full bloom, but the patchouli I think adds on this almost spicy leathery backing. If I really sniff up close I get something that resembles cinnamon, although it is not actually in here.

Overall a nice enough scent but nothing I´d personally rave about.

P.S I kind of think it smells like Big Red chewing gum. If you´re into that.

"Musc Immortel" by Atelier des Ors is a fluffy, textured musk-iris blend, perfect for rainy days in the transitional seasons. It feels almost a bit drowsy and listless, sad and inactive, yet it is extremely high-quality and tactile. Very airy, delicate, rather neutral, almost androgynous. Nutty-light.

The immortelle adds enough sweetness, the musk enough corporeality, and the iris enough femininity. A royal mustiness, a dirty purity. Hard to describe. Strange mixture, doesn’t work consistently; I have to be in the right mood for it. Yet I actually like all the components very much. Sometimes it annoys me a bit, sometimes I’m in seventh fragrance heaven. Mood-dependent. Definitely one of the noblest musk sailors on board. In my opinion, it just lacks a bit of character and edge. The soft focus is fully applied here and can never be turned off. That can weigh on the mood. But that’s exactly why it fits clouds and shadows.

Bottle: in this regard, Atelier des Ors is really quite fine. Almost everything fits here.
Sillage: delicate and heartfelt
Longevity: solid 7 hours. The nose adapts particularly quickly here.

Conclusion: a gossamer, gray veil of iris, musk, and a hint of coffee... Very dusty, powdery, and human. I like it a lot. One of the most delicate temptations in musk land. A capable autumn cuddle. Defensive and feels like it’s always in hibernation. Like asleep feet, but beautiful.
