Warmer summer evening in a bottle
The fragrances from Atelier des Ors are the first niche scents I have tested ... I just wanted to dive deeper into the perfume game and discover something special ...
The nice thing about Atelier des Ors is that you can simply buy 5 samples for €30 and then decide whether to purchase one of the fragrances in full size. The prices are still relatively moderate for niche, around €200 ...
Now, let's get to the scent.
The fragrance smells, in short, like a summer evening on some Southern European beach ... Not tropical but rather Mediterranean. Light aquatic notes with a slightly woody touch without smelling like shower gel.
It opens relatively citrusy but then becomes beautifully woody ... a bit dry in the direction of Terre d'Hermès but aquatic notes keep coming through.
The longevity is a good 6 - 8 hours ... I applied it shortly after 5 in the morning and when I got home around 2-3 PM, I could hardly perceive it in the air; I had to hold my nose close to my sweater. I find 6-8 hours to be acceptable, and especially in the first 3 hours, it has a relatively strong sillage that people definitely notice ... Just in the afternoon/evening, you should refresh the scent; otherwise, it remains a "skin scent".
It smells very unique to me. And the fragrance itself has a high quality. At no point does it smell cheap or synthetic. However, a blind buy should not be the case at around €200. Check their website; as mentioned at the beginning, you can buy a sample set, and with each 100ml fragrance, there is a sample included that you can test first and then return the fragrance UNOPENED, of course. I find that noteworthy. The bottle design at Atelier des Ors is also very beautiful; in each bottle, there’s even a bit of gold floating around ... Well, that has nothing to do with the scent, but it's a nice gimmick ...
