Blue Madeleine

There are photorealistic scents that you sniff and immediately go, "Oh yeah, that's an orange." Or, "Oh yeah, that's a rose fragrance, for sure." But Blue Madeleine is not that sort of scent. It doesn't smell like an oven with baked goods, fresh roses, or a tea shop despite it listing components of all of those notes in it's build. I guess when you take that many different elements, the end result is just something you wouldn't encounter IRL.

It's lightly sweet, fresh, and almost... lively? It's not cozy. There's a youthfulness about it, something that doesn't stay still or sedentary. Something like a toddler or young girl running back into the house after playing outside. Maybe that's the milk and rose?

I think this is something worth sampling solely because it's unusual enough that I have nothing to compare it to. It's actually quite nice and I think a lot of women will love it, but it's not for me.

Blue Madeline

I obtained a 2ml sample of Blue Madeline out of curiosity. Tested this on my wrist and it smelled like a softer version of Remember Me By Jovoy without the cigarette drydown. Pretty soft and comforting, however, longevity was not the greatest and the scent totally disappeared at the 3 hour mark. What a disappointment as I liked the opening and drydown.

Opening the Oven with cookies

Right off the bat you're hit with a smoky dose of cinnamon & woods, maybe even that praline. I was astounded it was really transformative for me, literally like you opened the open after baking vanilla/nut chocolate cookies, even that warm thick feel to it. Gorgeous.

As it dries it gets this sweet floral vibe from the rose & praline, literally one of the prettiest scents ive "laid" my nose on, powdery floral sweet goodness, but for the price idk if its worth it, definitely worth a sniff and a decant though.

Notes fit

I find the listed accords in the right order: sweet, spicy, slightly creamy and smoky. I can hardly smell the gourmand note, unless you say gourmand is a mixture of "sweet" and "creamy".
For me, this is as I had hoped, as I don't like smelling like food. I had hoped that the sweetness would be less intrusive and that its classification would be clearer.
I think that's generally my biggest problem with this fragrance: I can hardly recognize the individual notes, and the tea is unfortunately also lost.
Nevertheless, I find the fragrance pleasant, smoky, but definitely not an ashtray. It reminds me of the color purple.

A pleasantly peppery, sweet contemporary

Blue Madeleine is a beautiful fragrance. Especially in the first 1-2 hours I find the scent beautiful. After that, it becomes a bit 0-8-15 for me. That is not to say that it becomes bad, not at all. It just becomes "normal" to my nose and no longer quite so appealing to me.

In my opinion, the fragrance starts with bergamot, black tea, a hint of cinnamon and, above all, pepper. Pink pepper is listed and I find that the peppery touch is what makes the fragrance, especially in the initial phase.
A certain sweetness is also already noticeable, which becomes more intense over time.
The fragrance also has a slightly creamy touch at the beginning, which intensifies over time.

Towards the end, a beautiful sandalwood and above all juniper are added. I find the juniper quite present and also well developed.

Outwardly, the fragrance seems to go down really well.
My immediate environment has found Blue Madeleine to be very positive. Women in particular like this fragrance.
Personally, I wasn't completely convinced by it, but it definitely has some great aspects to it. You can definitely wear it very well!

The performance is okay.
Durability and sillage are not outstanding, but not bad either.

Is the fragrance suitable for both sexes?
Yes, we definitely have a unisex fragrance.
