Blue Madeleine
There are photorealistic scents that you sniff and immediately go, "Oh yeah, that's an orange." Or, "Oh yeah, that's a rose fragrance, for sure." But Blue Madeleine is not that sort of scent. It doesn't smell like an oven with baked goods, fresh roses, or a tea shop despite it listing components of all of those notes in it's build. I guess when you take that many different elements, the end result is just something you wouldn't encounter IRL.

It's lightly sweet, fresh, and almost... lively? It's not cozy. There's a youthfulness about it, something that doesn't stay still or sedentary. Something like a toddler or young girl running back into the house after playing outside. Maybe that's the milk and rose?

I think this is something worth sampling solely because it's unusual enough that I have nothing to compare it to. It's actually quite nice and I think a lot of women will love it, but it's not for me.

Blue Madeline
I obtained a 2ml sample of Blue Madeline out of curiosity. Tested this on my wrist and it smelled like a softer version of Remember Me By Jovoy without the cigarette drydown. Pretty soft and comforting, however, longevity was not the greatest and the scent totally disappeared at the 3 hour mark. What a disappointment as I liked the opening and drydown.

Opening the Oven with cookies
Right off the bat you're hit with a smoky dose of cinnamon & woods, maybe even that praline. I was astounded it was really transformative for me, literally like you opened the open after baking vanilla/nut chocolate cookies, even that warm thick feel to it. Gorgeous.

As it dries it gets this sweet floral vibe from the rose & praline, literally one of the prettiest scents ive "laid" my nose on, powdery floral sweet goodness, but for the price idk if its worth it, definitely worth a sniff and a decant though.

not just sweet and spicy
when i started getting curious about fragances, this was the first sample i bought. at the time i thought i was gonna lean onto sweet gourmand scents, i wanted to smell like a pastry. i looked at the notes and thought "oh! its name must be blue madeleine because it probably smells sweet- like having a muffin and a cup of tea. even the perfume bottle looks sweet!" well... no.

blue madeleine is a little bit more complex than just sweetness. it's elegant and mysterious.
it's having tea in the morning while you're camping. no fire, no synthetic scents, just you and a dry forest.

i guess it can remind you of a kitchen when you smell it on paper - in a good way- but it's way creamier on skin. it remains spicy on both. my mom said that it's very vanilla-like but i can't really smell that (and thank God because i don't really get along with vanillas).

really pretty, took a while to grow on me
Blue Madeleine smells like it's notes to my nose. I get slightly smoky, tannic black tea, then the smell of a madeleine cookie, especially the edges that get kind of caramelized. I also smell a bright citrus note and the drydown is a lovely candied vanilla smell. At first, the cade note was a no for me, but now when I wear it, I get a smoky tea scent and it's perfect. Marie Salamagne does it well.

A really well made lactonic sandal, all mitigated by black tea in contrast with cinnamon. Not a gourmand or sugary Parfum.

Smoky balsamic black tea. The bottle is too bright and light for the way it smells! Not gourmand or sweet at all.

Bergamot and a brief hint of rose, followed by sweet cinnamon and praline with a touch of creaminess. Reminiscent of a Unisex LVEB relative.

You'd never guess the notes by smelling it. To me, it's a ripe tropical fruity scent with a sweet-creamy drydown and spicy-green nuances.

A citrusy milky scent with strong cinnamon in the opening and creamy milk in dry down.

Wtf? Opens with beautiful pink pepper and dries down very spicy (cinnamon and black pepper), no milk or praline. Smells like fried chicken.

i thought it was a good "clean" smoke scent, but when i got the chance to test it again on skin it smelled like barbecue sauce :(

Initially peppery and smokey tea, rose with hint of corn muffin. Hours later it smelled like creamed corn.

I'm surprised at how much the rose stands out to me. It's making this smell kind of soapy and old fashioned.
