Sunrise on the Côte d‘Azur - Pure, Juicy Mandarin
I am extremely positively surprised.
Finding good summer fragrances that do not smell like cheap shower gel or synthetic toilet cleaner is not easy at all. This is one hell of a good freshie for me!
Scent: 8.5/10
The opening is an absolute explosion of flavor for the senses and instantly puts you in an extremely good mood.
You get an extremely juicy mandarin and zesty bitter orange in the opening.
The brilliant thing about this opening is that it does not smell artificial at all - rather, it feels as though you were peeling a fresh, ripe citrus fruit straight from the tree on a warm summer morning, while the flesh sprays juice.
As the drydown slowly begins, you get mint and a hint of basil.
This gives the initial citrus a brilliant twist.
In the drydown, the freshie settles onto a very clean foundation of cedarwood and white musk.
It creates a carefree aura of luxury, as though you were sitting on a yacht on the French Riviera wearing a white linen shirt.
Longevity: 7/10
The longevity is okay, but the sillage is rather weak.
Conclusion:
Really a great fragrance.
Unfortunately, it is rated rather poorly here, which I cannot quite understand.
