Sweet, spicy, floral, woody--provocative collision
Atelier des Ors Rouge Saray is a dense, sweet, woody, and ever so slightly powdery/floral blend featuring a big heart of dates, patchouli, and heliotrope with support of cinnamon, guaiac, jasmine, and plum. It definitely gives a bit of the “spice market” vibe while being nuanced and different from other examples of this, somehow both plenty sweet (a little vanilla, a little fruit) while also floral and also spicy. It’s an odd intersection but one that’s well-achieved via a good balance, as none of the aspects seem to especially outshine another. I also get a bit of a resinous vibe throughout, though no resins themselves are listed in the note breakdown.

Its concentration is EDP and it’s sold at Luckyscent for $275 for 100ml. It performs quite well, better than Larmes du Desert, even though I prefer the LDD scent itself.

To me, it’s good but not great, a like not a love, but surely still worth trying as I could see many people loving this.

Elegant gourmand
Rouge Sarây by Atelier des Ors is a refined gourmand that has been crafted by one of the best living perfumers, as the rest of this line. As the founder of the brand explained it is inspired to the middle eastern ritual of offering dates to guests and it wants to evoke conviviality moments. Simply put it is a woody dates scent that can make happy the woody perfume lover and the gourmand one as well. This perfume has really taken me on a journey...The first impression already arouses the most different pictures in the head...a compote of dried plums with rum and cinnamon refined.... stirred strongly and a syrupy sweet veil comes towards...the whole is cooked on an old stove which is stoked with wood! I perceive slightly smoky notes like a fine tobacco rising into my nose ...The whole ensemble ends with resinous sweet balsamic sounds! Intensive impressions that glide gently one would like to spray it again and again... seldom does a perfume manage to tell such stories that I like to listen to again and again !

Enormous widths for poetic reveries, filled with romantic stories.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.. I have always felt attracted to the Occident, was fascinated by the many thousands of spices and was looking for a suitable scent to satisfy my longing. I dreamt a lot about foreign countries and cultures, foreign beguiling smells that were in the air at the markets...until I found MY scent. An unbelievably precious, powerful scent, which is probably symbolic of the hospitality and abundance in the Middle East. A dark, romantic, erotic mixture of dates, cinnamon, plum, jasmine and patchouli is sweetly perceptible and nestles delicately without being obtrusive or causing headaches. This delicacy can only come from the high price. When I embark on the fragrance journey, I wake up in a beautiful desert of fine sand, which feels soft and warm under my bare feet. I smell the lures from the gilded temples in the air, which whet my appetite for more and invite me to great festivities. Males and females are ready to come closer and are not afraid to cross any borders

A wonderful gourmand oriental fragrance
I've tried over 70 different fragrances (and I've only been in the fragrance hobby for a good two months) but this is the first one that makes sure I know what a gourmand fragrance is.

It is simply beautiful from the first to the last second and very rounded. Speaking of the last second, I've been wearing the fragrance for about 8 hours now and I still perceive it very well and pleasantly. It is a very linear fragrance overall. It still smells the same hours later as it did at the beginning. But that's just an observation and not a judgment, because I really like the fragrance.
I can't really do much with fragrance images myself, but here I have a few in my head that I would like to share.
As you can read in the fragrance notes, this fragrance contains plums, cinnamon, dates and vanilla notes.
Compared to a Dior Homme Intense (2011), the vanilla here is really very subtle in the background. It rounds off the fragrance experience, but it doesn't scream "Here I am". I find it very pleasant. The plum and date notes are clearly in the foreground here.
My nose is still far from being trained enough to distinguish the differences here, but they are definitely dominant without us having a blatantly dominant ramp scent alá Xerjoff.

And even if it doesn't sound so positive now, this fragrance always reminds me of a lollipop with a fig-and-date note. And not one with such a liquid core that is sucked open after two minutes and then becomes a little too disgusting and sweet at the end, but like a very pleasant, fruity sweet that you simply have in your mouth for hours and your tongue constantly absorbs the flavors and enjoys them.
That's exactly what the fragrance does to my nose. It accompanies me the whole time and always delights my nose in a subtle but present way.
Yesterday I tried TOB/02 Tobacco Tango, which was also there all the time, but it was much more present.
This fragrance is less intrusive, but not so much that you wonder after 2-3 hours whether you've applied anything at all.

I really like this fragrance. I also like that it is nice and sweet, but again not too sweet. You don't think it would give you tooth decay.
On the contrary, it evokes the association of a journey through the desert on a camel, arriving at an oasis in the evening.
It's nice, but it's getting a bit chilly by now and you gather around a crackling campfire and dried figs and dates are served as a buffet.

Really a wonderful scent!

It opens with plum, cinnamon and what appears to be coffee. After that I get tobacco with the sweet dates. Then, vanilla and creamy wood.

Fruity-sweet-spicy open, plum done similarly to Initio's Blessed Baraka. Drydown is cinnamon & amberwood with some medicinal-oriental feel.

Like a warm embrace! Just the right amount of sweetness with the plum, dates and heliotrope. Not overwhelming, just perfectly balanced!

Less dense than expected from seeing the notes (I mean that in a positive way), nicely balanced. This feels very warm and comforting.

Syrupy dates and plums with a healthy dose of cinnamon plus patchouli. Balsamic woods hold the base, florals keep it from getting too dense.
