Riviera Drive Atelier des Ors 2019

This is a lovely green summer scent with zest of lemon on a bed of rosemary and marjoram. Truly unisex, it's just my speed. The herbs are really fresh, truly satisfying and the perfume reminds me of "Renaissance | XerJoff", but a lot less sugary and sharper green than that. Whereas Renaissance turns a bit funky in the drydown, the greens in Riviera Drive just darken up a bit with hints of vetiver and patchouli. I enjoy this a lot more than Renaissance.

The scent Riviera Drive starts off great, slightly citrusy, beautifully green...
All in all, a very successful start.

A little later, it becomes greener, the citrus notes slowly fade into the background and the green notes become more pronounced. Still a very successful fragrance. Then woody notes join in and create a base... but suddenly something changes for me in the scent.

I don't know if it's coming from the musk or from the patchouli... maybe the marjoram? Who knows... I can't really decipher it, in any case, the scent drifts further away... in a cleaner direction, and the gold leaf doesn't help anymore, it looks nice but it doesn't turn a cleaner into a scent like Imagination

The beginning is really nice, the middle is still quite acceptable, and later this scent, in my opinion, really leaves much to be desired...

The longevity and sillage are not outstanding, you can perceive it but more than 5 hours is not possible for me, which is quite okay for a summer scent.

The bottle is a beauty! The pattern, the blue color, and the gold create a very nice interplay that you enjoy looking at. The white heavy cap with the beautiful logo on it also adds to its appeal.

All in all, a nice fragrance, but I wouldn't expect too much.
In my opinion, a bit too expensive for what you get.

I must say I like this brand more and more!

But now let's get to the fragrance:

The beginning is a pure burst of freshness!
You immediately get pure freshness from lemon and marjoram.
Citrusy, fresh, green!

What more could you want from a summer scent that brings a smile to your face and gives that certain awakening energy moment?

Every now and then, the fragrance also reminded me a bit of a yellow "Nimm2" candy :-D
But not unpleasant.

In a quick progression, the green notes recede more and more, and the woody note, here through cedarwood, stands out more and more, thus underpinning this fragrance.

The fragrance is truly successful; the composition and development completely convince me, and this incredible freshness is simply wonderful.

However, in one aspect it is wonderful, and in another, it is not.

The longevity is the major drawback of this fragrance!
As mentioned above, the development is interesting and wonderful, but unlike other fragrances that take their time and develop beautifully, showing what they are made of gently and thus lasting longer, this fragrance rushes through its brilliance.

I really like the scent, and it would truly be a lovely summer fragrance; I am indeed still looking for one, if it weren't for the price-performance issue.

For the price, it is simply too fleeting and thus too expensive for my taste.
Yes, I know summer fragrances are rarely long-lasting, but there are also some that have good longevity and sillage.
At least they last half a day :-D
The bottle, as is typical for Atelier des Ors, I find very successful.
The heavy, simple cap, the gold in the bottle, and the color gradient from blue with the sun-like pattern in the glass emphasize, in my opinion, the brilliance and also, as I see it, the "royal blue" of the house Atelier des Ors!

This brand is far too little noticed, which surprises me greatly.
Since many fragrances do not create this standard mainstream-niche scent that is so hyped.

I am already looking forward to the next one from this brand :-)
