I smell pepper ️
To be honest i was so suprised that i read that this one is a kind of citrusy scent. I really don’t smell any citrus fruit.
I just smell kind af a peper and thats the good point because im not i to citrus perfumes.
Anyway this is sooo les lasting ( like many byredo perfumes) its almost gone in 1 hour so if you are i to long lasting/ great silage perfumes. Skip this one.
And what about the scent. Hmmm i just smell peper and only pepper

Palermo?
Well, Palermo doesn't really make loud or even noisy scents. It's a rather gentle fragrance from a stylish brand.
Somehow the name doesn't quite fit... because before one thinks of the beautiful island and its southern fruits, one rather thinks of well-organized "big families" that have a lot to do with pride, honor, and respect. But maybe that hasn't reached Sweden yet... or perhaps the spread was halted when they found out that Abba, Roxette, Ikea, and Ace of Base also come from Sweden... I don't know. Now I do know that the top note of Mister Marvelous and Bullion is no coincidence. Rather, it seems to be the Guerlainade of Sweden. This seems to slowly become a trademark... at least for the fresh scents of the brand.
Palermo is zesty-citrusy in the first minutes, slightly bitter from bitter orange/grapefruit and a big scoop of bergamot. The citrus kings of Atelier Colognes can't do much better than this. It's mega refreshing, slightly spicy, and unripe-green. The counterpart that comes to the forefront after a few minutes is a totally delicious musk. There's nothing new in this combination, nor is it particularly exciting or innovative... but it can still please time and again. Where the roses or even the rose absolute are supposed to be, I can't say for the life of me! Maybe I've gotten used to a completely different dose of rose by now, and the scent stimulation is too little for my nose. But even on Swedish shelves, parts are sometimes missing or there's too much in it... let's take it easy!
Speaking of relaxation, Palermo is excellent for meditation... because not much more happens with the scent... meaning you don't have to worry about a possible development... you can close your eyes and wonderfully switch off your mind. But as a complete fragrance, Palermolino doesn't excite me or even inspire me to make a purchase. Even though I'll never find out, they surely have something like this at the Body Shop... for a fifth of the price.
The longevity is not bad at all with 3-4 hours, as the scent notes would suggest, but even in summer, it's too little for me. The sillage barely deserves the category "close to the skin"... which isn't really surprising. Better to buy Mister Marvelous and layer it with Musk Man from the Body Shop... then you have both.

Sour is not Funny, or How Mr. Riebmann Ended Up Between the Walls
The topic of lemon in perfume is, in my opinion, quite a challenging one! As with any fragrance direction, individual tastes vary greatly here. What delights some can be horrendous to others, and vice versa.

For my fragrance taste, Palermo is unfortunately just horrendous, boring, and it lasts exactly from here to our bathroom door (about 5 m). It consists, so to speak, only of a top note.

Barely sprayed, a piercingly sour synthetic lemon scent spreads with the charm of dish soap. Once this has faded, the sour misery comes to an end altogether. My kitchen soap, used to remove unpleasant food odors, lasts five times longer and the lemon scent is far more refined than the smell of Palermo.

I won’t go on about which lemon perfumes I prefer and why. Every fool likes his cap.....

In the case of Palermo, sour does not make me laugh at all, and now I know why Mr. Riebmann lives between the walls. He wanted to escape the sour smell.

Is the Mafia Already Suppressing Perfumes?!
I am already a bit of a fan of Byredo, both of individual outstanding and often polarizing creations like Pulp or Bal d'Afrique, as well as the cool and super modern style. However, Palermo definitely takes this minimalism too far, consisting basically of a top note, albeit a beautiful one, and is therefore not even remotely worth the demanded price.

The top note is, as mentioned, beautiful, saves the perfume, and refreshes very successfully after physical activity. Zesty vetiver, pomelo, a summery lightness from petitgrain and musk, as even Creed cannot achieve. A radiant yellow-green-white with recognizability due to quality that is beyond reproach.
Now I will describe the heart and base:

Bottle: Palermo on a white background - appeals to me as a half-Italian...
Sillage: I can’t stop laughing... but within the first 20 minutes, you have the chance to receive compliments with greeting kisses... Of course, that’s not enough for me!
Longevity: with 2 hours, a record low is set in this price range!

One of the most disappointing creations of the brand, because fortunately the own standards are now very high (both from Byredo and from me) and also because all the powder is shot within the 30-head minutes!

.......
Light, summery, and predominantly a citrus-musk blend for my nose.
However, it does say so :)
It strongly reminds me of H. Lehmann's New York.
Pleasant.

felt sharp and synthetic for a while. liked the dry-down much better, but wore off very quickly

Initially: refreshing citric with a slight sour-bitter note. Over time (with poor longevity), the citrus fruits become more sweet and ripe.

Pungent citrus, almost no scent development, incredibly poor longevity - Palermo, this does not do you justice at all!

Rich yellow, radiant, very lightly sour citrus. Well crafted, but too monotonously boring for me.

The little, more moderate brother of "Mister Marvelous," more Mediterranean-moderate than Nordic-cool, more homogeneous and a bit finer!

Refreshing + radiant, slightly sour + bitter citrus. Captured by the mafia. Gone faster than the musk cloud passes. Too little.

Bitter oranges and Sicilian lemon groves. Palermo is beautiful. Unfortunately just a 5-minute quick trip. After that, only clean musk + rose.

A citrusy story + light rose. More floral notes + fruity notes. Musk is hidden. There are so many similar ones. H/S good.
