so far,
Helix has come off surprisingly badly here, although this is perhaps the first time that I have really experienced the complete, promised fragrance pyramid. At the start, there is a brief flash of peach, fresh and fruity but not overripe or too juicy and sweet. It doesn't attract wasps yet!
Together with bergamot - which I like to confuse with lime and much prefer to lemon - and a mild green herbaceousness of sage. Beautiful! Fresh! Summery! The top note is clearly sage-dominated on my skin, I don't like fruit scents per se, but the little bit here in the side note is acceptable.
We go from yellow-green to green-light blue-white: a very subtle and headache-free lily of the valley/neroli combination with a maritime, aquatic side note. I can understand the association with a fresh (slightly masculine) shower gel at this point but I think the development is great and wonderfully unisex, sporty, summery fresh. But without being a "full-fledged" aquatic, the white flowers have green accessories. The cedar/vetiver combo is also wonderfully spicy but cushioned by the musk, which is generally very nicely used by Carner, not too dominant and well balanced.
The equally summery, white-turquoise bottle with a light wooden lid fits well visually.
The price and whether there are "better" fragrances for the money are certainly debatable, but when I evaluate the fragrance on MY skin, I have no reason to complain.
The silage is at a normal level for a summer fragrance, nobody has to die if they are in the same room as me even with one more spray. Longevity is surprisingly good and better than that of my previously tested light wood top colleagues. Maybe this is a very skin chemistry dependent candidate? Maybe a bit generic? I find Helix to be a great fresh summer all-rounder when I don't want to spend 20 minutes worrying about "which fragrance to wear today". Yes, somewhere between body lotion and shower gel perhaps, but is that such a bad thing? I get citrusy freshness without cleansing vibes, white flowers without a headache and a well-groomed base - I'm completely fine with that.
