This is another one of those fragrances that I didn't have on my radar but which, if I remember correctly, came to me as part of a swap with other bottlings from the collection of a dear fellow perfumista. I emptied the 5 ml relatively greedily, although my collection is not lacking in summer freshness.
I now have a 100 ml bottle and am looking forward to the hot days when this fragrance will really shine, even though I already enjoy wearing it after work as an additional light refresher.
About the fragrance: The opening is refreshing, like jumping into ice-cold water on a 40-degree day in August. However, there is nothing sharp about the citrusy notes in the opening. This can also be great, but here everything is rounded off right from the start. However, this does not detract from the refreshment. When the heart notes are added, the orange blossom plays first fiddle, but it is accompanied throughout by blood orange, cedarwood and musk. Nevertheless, if you don't like orange blossom, you should probably reach for other freshies, of which there are many. I love the orange blossom here, which never becomes too flowery. The marine notes - well, they are not the salty marine notes that you find in the Acqua di Gìo range, for example. I appreciate those too. But here, although it says "maritime" on the label, I think more of a pool that has just been cleaned with flowers in it (without chlorine, of course), if they are maritime notes, then they are very tamed. But you still think of water and sun. I don't know to what extent the solar note is responsible for this. I imagine it to be a synthetic note that makes the fragrance feel like you're in the sun. I don't know if I'm imagining it, but the fragrance actually reminds me of lying on the beach or by the pool and my clean skin starting to get a little, hopefully harmless "roasting" under the sun's rays. I can smell my skin turning brown when I'm out in the sun. And I get this feeling even when I'm wearing this fragrance on the couch. It is one of the most refreshing fragrances I know. I would love to pick up this beautiful bottle and spray it again to experience the opening again and again, but you really don't have to do that here. In contrast to a
Dior Homme Cologne (2013), for example, the fragrance radiates and lasts an exceptionally long time for a fresh fragrance.
About the bottle:
One of the most beautiful bottles I know! The color is great, and I also love the quality of the bottle with the heavy glass. The cap may not be to everyone's taste due to its oversized size, but the bright summer colors contribute significantly to the brand's recognition value. The only thing is that a 100 ml bottle with the cap becomes unwieldy and I think it's a shame that the cap sits a little too loosely on the bottle. So be careful: you can't lift the 100 ml bottle by the cap. The bottle slips out and falls off.
I think the 100 ml version of the bottle alone (i.e. without the cap) is beautifully designed.
How it feels to wear:
I've never played tennis. I think that's a shame. But I absolutely understand the association. I wore this perfume a lot last summer for road cycling. When you're outdoors and want fresh and citrusy, the scent is! It doesn't get too heavy, not too green and not too sweet either. The quality is in line with the RRP you often see the fragrance at.
A perfectly coordinated freshie for hot days that simply puts you in a good mood.
If you need a little "salt" in the soup....ähhhh...in this fragrance, we recommend
Sal y Limón. I've already tested it and also find it wonderfully light for hot days.
Carner what? Carner can do something! Sorry for the shallow pun, but I think Carner deserves some attention when it comes to fresh summer fragrances.
