Hello everyone,
today I would like to share my opinion on the little dilemma of "Noble XXI: Art Deco - Amberwood | Clive Christian".
What do I mean by that exactly?
In the statements regarding "Noble XXI: Art Deco - Amberwood | Clive Christian", it was suggested that it is a 50 years + fragrance and so on! Let me put it this way, I am a delicate (still) 35 and I really enjoy wearing
1872 for Men, "Original Collection - X: The Masculine Perfume of the Perfect Pair / X for Men | Clive Christian",
L for Men, "Noble XXI: Art Deco - Cypress | Clive Christian", and also "Noble XXI: Art Deco - Amberwood | Clive Christian" for several months now, and to be honest, I have never (!) understood this statement...
Yes, fragrances from CC are more mature, higher quality, and not as pleasing as PDM; MFK, Xerjoff and co., but they certainly don't have to be - "Noble XXI: Art Deco - Amberwood | Clive Christian" brings a certain class with it, but I would never call it an "oldie" fragrance, because it certainly is not!
It is woody - spicy and starts pleasantly fresh (bergamot and sage) and slowly the freshness diminishes and it becomes more woody - slightly spicy, and the tonka bean noticeably enters the stage, but it is not very sweet - rather hardly sweet, and the drydown is the true highlight of the fragrance, the warm and slight creaminess is divine! The mix of amber, tobacco, and tonka bean - a 10 out of 10!
Its problem:
The dark sibling named "Noble XXI: Art Deco - Blonde Amber | Clive Christian" (my review of it here https://www.parfumo.de/Parfums/Clive_Christian/noble-xxi-art-deco-blonde-amber/rezensionen/305231) and whether the hype surrounding it is justified or not, everyone must decide for themselves!
I find it a bit unfortunate that 2 really good ones ("Noble XX: Art Nouveau - Papyrus | Clive Christian" + "Noble XXI: Art Deco - Amberwood | Clive Christian") are forgotten because of this, and my little favorite "Noble XXI: Art Deco - Cypress | Clive Christian" as well.
Which one is the best for you is of course a matter of opinion. I just see it this way, sometimes you gain more attention when you swim against the tide, rather than being one of many. And I see great potential in "Noble XXI: Art Deco - Amberwood | Clive Christian" since its release... (a sleeping giant)
Performance:
I find it quite fair... and you can excellently boost its performance with, for example,
Molecule 01 or
Herod or
Layton Exclusif or
Reflection 45!
If I really weren't convinced, I wouldn't recommend it to you!
(You can test it, but buying a bottle.... - if you like it as much as I do, then yes)
And now have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny
