Paper+

Very similar to Paper expressive, but sweeter and with more of an ambery warmth. Feels like it would be a great complement to a lot of vanilla perfumes. I personally prefer Paper expressive because it comes off slightly cleaner to my nose, but this one is nice also and stands out from other “your skin but better” scents because of its additional warmth.

This version projects really well (as you might expect given it’s the bold version) and lasts all day. It’s an easy one to reach for; suitable for all weathers, seasons, situations, and genders. Whilst it’s noticeable, it’s also not so overpowering that it’s likely to offend anyone. In my view, an easy scent to love.

ISO bomb

I will start by saying I have a huge criticism of this house which I love everything else about... the black bottles... wtf I cant see through it? I don't know how much is left? they should be translucent not opaque!!

This is the ISO bomb of the set. I blew hot and cold on this and changed my mind several times whilst trying - I never hated it though just more not sure if its really worth having in the line up. Its a lovely musk skin scent and the first time I tried it I LOVED (my notes just say 'WOW they described this perfectly on the website' because I smelled EXACTLY what they said I would) it but the second time not so much, and the third time it was just OK. It could be the vetiver - having recently tried Fat Electrician and being unable to decide if I like it or if it repulses me lmao. Did get compliments from others and I need to try it a few more times to decide for sure I think! Overall it is nice and smooth and quite gentle ISO and I definitely would try it again

Molecule scent at its worst

Right from the start, a big recommendation for the excellent Discovery Set from Commodity, a total of 18 fragrances, yet affordable, so you'll be occupied for a while.

Thanks to Iso E Super in the top note, a comparison with Molecule 01 is almost inevitable, which I love and appreciate very much. My expectations were therefore quite high. I was all the more shocked when I sprayed Paper+ on my forearm and after about an hour in the drydown (before that, I couldn't smell anything) had to realize that my skin and Paper+ apparently wouldn't become friends.
Molecule 01 smells fresh, slightly woody, simply pleasant on me.
With Paper+, there are additional woods in the pyramid, as well as a fresh note at best thanks to vetiver. My girlfriend, with whom I worked through a few Commodity samples and to whom I held my forearm under her nose, perceived these notes on me just as: fresh and woody, feminine. She found it pleasant.

But as it often is with molecules: one person's joy is another's sorrow. Unfortunately, in my nose, neither wood nor vetiver comes through, but rather an unkempt, musty note like damp cardboard (a close relative of paper - which makes the name somewhat fitting). It becomes extremely skin-like, very human. Like a body odor that I don't want. The scent projects strongly, it keeps reaching my nose, and time and again it triggers in me the urge to want to shower. The longevity is remarkable: on my skin, it lasts about 7 hours, on clothing, days.

In the distant background, however, I do get a slight, sweet vanilla that makes me not find Paper+ completely unbearable. It reminds me of the Milk-... just this milky-vanilla amber/wood DNA that quite a few fragrances from the house share.

Apparently, there are also some people who celebrate the scent. Unfortunately, for me, it is unbearable. I'd rather have Paper- for a more classically molecular character and less papier-mâché vibes.

This is woody, very dry & linear on me. I don't find it reminiscent of paper. The longevity is middling-fair; intimate sillage. Unisex.

Dry, clean + transparent. Lightly sweet + warm artificial sandalwood. No cedar. Reminds me of old cardboard. Unpleasant for me.
