A mellow Saffron
This + set is great and I did enjoy them all however I will say with the exception of Moss and Book, they all smell a bit similar. I think if you enjoy this DNA of fragrance you'd be pretty safe with Gold, Milk, Paper and Velvet tbh.

Initial spritz; smells amazing, so yummy and rich. getting vague BR540 vibes again (the rich amber-y/saffron blend I think). this one is the slightly more floral of the bunch without being overpowering and ruining the smooth/creamy nature.

Dry down; lovely, amber-y, hints of rose, labdanum and musk. On the first wear I did detect something around 4-5 hours that soured it slightly, vaguely metallic and not great but it disappeared quite quickly and I didn't get it on the second try so who knows? maybe my least favourite compared to the others in the set but still nice!

Out of all the frags I've tried with Saffron in this is my favourite though as in BR540 I find it cloying and overwhelming

Velvet+
Velvet+ has an immediate larger presence than Velvet-, which was to be expected. I can smell the paper strip very intensely though it is currently lying to dry down. It has an Oud for Greatness quality to it, but I do get smoke as stated in the pamphlet. What I don't get (on paper) is saffron and patchouli. It is well rounded, but something about it makes me nauseous. It is the infamous Commodity DNA, yet again. On skin the rose is much more prominent and I remember (for once) liking the rose note in Velvet Expressive as it balanced the somewhat nauseating scent. Velvet+ is richer, darker and better than Velvet-, but not Velvet Expressive. It reminds me of Oud Satin Mood by Maison Francis Kurkdjian, but with the Commodity DNA sprinkled all over it. Alas, neither of the Velvet editions are to my liking.

This is a half-eaten bowl of Sugar Smacks breakfast cereal with milk in it, found days later on a computer desk in a dark, smoky room.

A smoky scent that's not bad, I just think it'll shine much better in the colder months than it does right now
