I Peel an Orange
Yes, I admit it. My title for this fragrance is quite similar to the title of my comment on Concentré d’Orange Verte (“I peeled an orange…”). But here we have a scent that smells like real oranges, so good that it could be worn as a citrus summer fragrance, if only it weren't so fleeting.

And I’m pretty sure my cat doesn’t like this scent at all, as he already sought refuge when faced with the aforementioned fragrance from Hermès!

Furthermore, all those who enjoyed reading my Demeter comments will now have to be strong. This is the last Demeter comment, but if I happen to get new samples again, I will, as always, write a comment for all the new fragrances immediately!

The scent:
The name of the fragrance can initially be misleading, as the orange smells bitter rather than sweet. This is not meant in an unpleasant way. It smells just like the orange peel, especially how the scent clings to your fingers when you peel those delicious fruits. A little later, the bitter scent becomes slightly milder.
However, later on, it doesn't smell quite as pleasant anymore, but that’s okay since it’s just about to fade away.

The longevity seems to be really very short. The scent lasts not even an hour before you have to press your nose against the sprayed spot.
The sillage is similarly weak. At first, it’s wonderfully strong, so that the great scent of orange peels fills your nose, but not even 10 minutes later, the sillage is in the basement.

The bottle is adequate and simply contains the fragrance liquid. That it doesn’t make a particularly good impression should be known by now.
The label is unfortunately nothing special either, and I would have wished for at least a juicy orange as an image, but nooo…

This fragrance is actually quite nice, and at first, you might think that you could even wear it, as it smells refreshingly citrusy and thus seems perfect for summer. Unfortunately, the scent is very weak and hardly lasts. You would have to reapply every 15 minutes just to be able to give off any scent to the surroundings.

Not even my cat, who usually reacts sensitively to citrus notes, was impressed, as he didn’t even really flinch when he lay on my arm, and no, he wasn’t extremely tired so that the scent wouldn’t bother him.

Anyone looking for great orange fragrances should probably not go for this one. However, it’s sufficient for occasional sniffing.
For superb orange perfumes, I still recommend Concentrée d’Orange Verte by Hermès or Orange Sanguine by Atelier Cologne.

And so another journey through the Demeter fragrances comes to an end, with most of them receiving quite high ratings this time, as there were more pleasant scents involved. I’m already looking forward to the next time and hope to catch some bizarre fragrances again, as it was a lot of fun to write comments about those scents :)
By the way, I have created a folder in my collection where I have gathered all the tested Demeter fragrances, in case anyone wants to read something they might have missed. The folder is called… “Demeter-tested.”

Not orange juice, but instead a realistic orange rind. Pulpy, slightly bitter, but still fresh in an almost-green way.
