Spicewood Oriental Moss Chypre
Here I have 10 ml of a fragrance completely unknown to me until now, a mini, probably from the eighties. If not even earlier. And the content lives up to its name.
It contains a whole arsenal of fragrance components that are favorable to me; some "jump" into my nose, while I can only guess at others.
Clove should be present, along with rose and patchouli. On top, there is probably bergamot and green notes.
At this stage, the fragrance seems "oriental" to me, but that changes as it develops further. Other flowers come to meet me; it should be iris and ylang-ylang. And from there, the "chypre" starts to make its way, sneaking through vetiver grass, or rather its roots, and some "undergrowth," which could be aromatic sandalwood and "spicy" cedarwood. A combination that particularly pleases my olfactory organ. And finally, silvery-gray feathered and long-hanging strands of oak moss appear, growing on various deciduous trees.
An absolute MUST for every chypre. Now I find myself asking once again: Why are such fragrance gems discontinued? Like this "Spicewood Oriental Moss Chypre"....
This one earns top marks from me: "The candidate has 100 points!!" PERIOD.
