So beautiful
I used to wear edt version quite often, but i didn't know that edp is so much better. Blackcurrant leaf is even brighter here, but i definitely smell berries as well. Rose here is also very beautiful, and overall this perfume gives the impression of a garden after rain. Very beautiful perfume! And i received a lot of compliments, when i was wearing this.

Rose in a blender
I think I blind-bought this and probably regretted it when I took my first sniff, but it grew on me. The rose dug its thorns into my skin.

At first, it's astringent. Green. So incredibly green. Bitter and almost peppery. You could shove a couple of leaves into your nose and get the same smell. However, the rose starts to poke through over time with plump, soft, and sweet petals.

It's like taking the whole rose plant (thorns, stems, leaves, etc.) and throwing it in a blender. Crushed, mushed, sliced and diced into a fragrant, lumpy paste.

It's a fragrance that I must be in the right mood for.

A love-hate relationship, but mostly love.

Unconventional rose perfume
I have realized lately that another note I have unknowingly gravitated toward is currant. I have lost count of the number of favorite perfumes now that when I go to look up the notes contain red currant, black currant, or cassis. So I suppose it's no surprise that I enjoy L'Ombre dans L'eau (Shadow on the Water) by a company I previously only associated with expensive candles. It smells very real. Real red roses hiding out beneath ferns in a rain soaked garden. It's very green. That's the color I see when I smell it. Green leaves, green vines, green stems. More rosebush than roses. It makes me think of a child mashing up flower petals and leaves with a rock and smearing the juices to make colors on the sidewalk. It reminds me of sudden showers in the early summer that last all of 5 minutes, the sun shining all the while. It is the beautiful essence of running barefoot over pine needles and moss, past wild rose bushes, laughing and enjoying my childhood. Herbal and uplifting, I want to gift a bottle of this to a friend who is going through a hard time. I feel that this could give her a power she forgot she ever had.

Rosy blackcurrant
An exemplary use of bourgeons de cassis, blackcurrant flowers and leaves and all—a historically significant extract as one of the first remotely-fruity ingredients.

L’ombre Dans L’eau is massively green and tart, with some rose in the background as a supporting character. It makes me long for spring when the flowers can bloom again. Definitely sample before you buy as blackcurrant leaves can smell like urine to some folks.

A savoury herbal opening reminicent of damp tomato leaves progresses into a slightly resinous wet foresty fragrance. Cool and refreshing.

Since my day was ruined yesterday, this made my day today. Green, fruity, bitter, airy. Quality. Love at first scent. Diptyque is awesome.

Not only rose petals, but also leaves, stems and wet roots, the whole rose! Very fascinating!

Photorealistic blackcurrant leaves and branches gradually turn into sweetness. Could be great - but as it stands, it's just interesting.

Another that I wanted to love but can't. There is at least one note that stands out as overwhelmingly sharp and bitter on my skin.
