Where the Seine flows
Sorry to ruin the poetic reference of this perfume's name, but err.. anyone who has taken a cruise over the Seine - or any city river for that matter - knows that under the bridge is where the creepers live. Not exactly a place of fresh aromas or cosy get-togethers. Anyways, gladly the scent itself paints a more idyllic scene.
"Sous le Pont" has an odd way of introducing itself. A combined taste of fig and hairspray could make one fear that this is another one of ELDO's absurdities, but it is just messing with you for a few secs. Pretty soon the odd taste is gone and a completely different, fresh-woody scent emerges. Dominant notes are violet, a soft incense and a sandal-like woody base. Hints of dill could vaguely remind one of Santal 33 Eau de Parfum .
Apart from the little fig prank in the opening, I would say that this is an acceptable freshie. Fun and easy to wear, especially on sunny days. Perfect for a walk across -not under- the Mirabeau bridge.
