Where the Seine flows
Sorry to ruin the poetic reference of this perfume's name, but err.. anyone who has taken a cruise over the Seine - or any city river for that matter - knows that under the bridge is where the creepers live. Not exactly a place of fresh aromas or cosy get-togethers. Anyways, gladly the scent itself paints a more idyllic scene.

"Sous le Pont" has an odd way of introducing itself. A combined taste of fig and hairspray could make one fear that this is another one of ELDO's absurdities, but it is just messing with you for a few secs. Pretty soon the odd taste is gone and a completely different, fresh-woody scent emerges. Dominant notes are violet, a soft incense and a sandal-like woody base. Hints of dill could vaguely remind one of Santal 33 Eau de Parfum .

Apart from the little fig prank in the opening, I would say that this is an acceptable freshie. Fun and easy to wear, especially on sunny days. Perfect for a walk across -not under- the Mirabeau bridge.

Underrated ELDO
This gives me zoologist vibes in that it's not trying to be pretty - this isn't an ocean in a fantasy world with pretty mermaids and coconuts and tiare. Similar to Seahorse. SLPM leans into more realistic oceanic accords - seaweed, weather beaten shells and dirty sand. Like a Northeastern shoreline on a choppy day in the spring. I don't get much vanilla but I imagine it helps smooth out the base so it's not spikey earthy notes all the way down. I don't get any dill or pickles, beyond a mild fresh cucumber note in the opening.nnModerate performance, great price. Really happy to finally have some good marine vibes on my shelf!

Ozonic niche Cool Water
Like most aquatics, the synthetic nature of the scent is there. Reminiscent of Cool Water Eau de Toilette BUT with a twist.

I love the classic Davidoff, but this takes that DNA to another level.
Present violet leaf with the bergamot and musk give away the ozonic & aquatic scent this has, it's not a special scent, no vanilla, sandalwood or frankincense present whatsoever. It's more of an upgrade to the old legend.
It's a safe blindbuy but dont expect it to wow you, it is very linear. Not a bad addition to a starting collection if you dont yet have an easy grab aquatic.

ELDO at its best
Sous Le Pont Mirabeau is definitely not like other fresh summerish fragrances. When you examine the notes you may get discouraged that it is just fresh, safe, suitable for all, fragrance.
The opening notes of a bit spicy citrus creates refreshment, indeed. But then the open air appears: a space full of sun, freedom and and relax (which I may connect with fresh juicy fig). Sandal wood makes it hmm nice, sweetish- but only for a longer while. The mature dryness appears, probably thanks to cedar wood and incense. And here comes ELDO style. The scent becomes like a Mobius band, you are taken again to the fresh side, with a bit of sweetness (violet?) but nothing is one-dimensional anymore.
Just like love happens to be: the end is usually a beginning of something new.
And even if you fall in love again, you know „the stages” and its rythym, it is never the same.

An interesting fragrance blended in an outstanding way, a bit ambigiuous, definitely surprising and making you feel good.
What a story to live on a sunny day!

it's ~crisp~
Spring water, with brisk bergamot, crisp cedar, and the faintest buzz of clary sage. Unusually straightforward and safe for an ELDO. It’s a clean-shaven, Brita-filtered, cutting-season sort of scent. I can feel my cholesterol dropping every time I spritz. It’s office-safe and unisex, but masc-leaning. Perfect for a morning on the reformer or a board presentation. I think I’m smitten because it feels like a more “cologne-y” version of Byredo’s De Los Santos. Unfortunately I get minimal radiance beyond the first thirty minutes. Even on fabric, it plays like a skin scent.

Mental Snapshot: A slo-mo shot of a fitness paragon splashing their face in a stainless-steel vessel sink. An unplaceable accent. Soft-spoken, but with a firm handshake. Their business card is embossed only with their name: Enrique Nox.

tl;dr: the age of the clean girl is over, the time of the clean boy has come

I don’t see the Cool Water link apart from the highly synthetic ozonics. A bit fruity feminine too. This is a pass for me.

An ideal warm weather aquatic, pink peppercorn brightens sweet fig, water flows over resin and wood. It's beautiful and clean.

Love the cedar and sandalwood here. But the overall scent smells exactly like bayrischer Kartoffelsalat lol.

So much like dill pickles, I just can't get past that impression to the rest of the notes. This one isn't for me.

A nice little inoffensive fresh aquatic. Nothing groundbreaking, but would make a nice daily driver for lovers of wet environments.

Mostly get a marine accord & slightly bitter leaves, with sandalwood/vanilla more prominent in the drydown. Unique, fresh, calming.

I LOVE this scent. To me it smells exactly like what it says on the bottle: Wet wet stone. A little musty in a good way. I see the vision.

This is different every time I try it. Don't sample this over previous faded fragrances, it is too subtle and will re-activate old scents.
