A very specific allure
I don't have a lot of experience with Sorcinelli's fragrances, yet I own some. And they always leave me a bit astonished by their uniqueness. This one's a bit different, as it seems a lot more straight forward in it's message. Yet, it's very niche
Please know this: This is a roll-on extrait de parfum. I think that's a cool touch, considering the intent and origins of the "x-SE" collection.
I think the name of this "extrait de perversion" is VERY fitting:
"Quickie and Coffee" - a dirty little play in the back of an older coffee shop's restroom:
It smells very spicy, lots of ambrette, very intense on first application.
Initially, there's a harsh smell that hits your nose, but it's not off-putting - it's weirdly intriguing. A little smoky, with a light hit of coffee. On my skin, the coffee and smoke notes are very subtle, they don't really come through as much as I hoped.
Then there's a strong pine resiny smell, with a specific touch of honey (You know that feeling when you eat a spoon of honey, and it's very sweet and fragrant, but then that light sharpness hits? It's exactly that!)
After a couple hours, that sharpness settles down and leaves a resiny - honey - amber smell. After 10+ hours, it smells just like 3 hours after application, but maybe a little less intense. Still: Great longevity!
This one's an ambrette pine resin bomb, that kicks off with an alluring nastiness, and leaves a classy smell behind.
The story goes: You had your quickie in the back rooms of an old coffee shop. The surroundings were nasty and aged, but you didn't care, it was all about the moment. And later, you reminisce, the nasty moments fade over time, lose meaning, and you're left with an endearing memory.
For me, this is a very occasional fragrance, definitely not the easiest to wear. But it has an allure. If you ever get the chance to try this one, please do. I wouldn't blind buy this, ever.
Update: I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN TO WEAR THIS ONE. It's very intriguing in concept, but it's very penetrant and I feel a bit lost with this one. A little goes a long way, and you can surely layer this one so create some super unique olfactory combos!
